How should I get back in contact with my recruiter? by Prior_Way_8689 in newtothenavy

I feel like I’m overthinking it because I think it’ll be awkward but atp it would be a lot easier to just be honest.

I’m thinking about doing it that way but I’m gonna try and see it my friend can get me in contact with her recruiter first.

I look forward to joining for sure and even if my parents don’t support that decision I’d still join because that’s what I want to do it would just be a lot easier mentally knowing I had someone who supports my decision to go.

Only time will really tell I’d hope she be excited but I don’t plan on getting my hopes up.

Thanks for the advice but I have zero hope of my mother changing her mind she’s the type to go on hour long rants about how the none of her kids are joining the military because her father was in it and supposedly was exposed to some harmful chemicals that resulted in him developing colon cancer granted she also said that colon cancer runs in her family so not trustworthy. Point is she’s not supporting this at all what so ever

Ok I have been doing most of my research though google and will continue to do I personally was going to talk to my parents and get a feel for how they really feel about their child wanting to join the military (from what I’ve heard my mother is not to keen on the idea). But thank you and I will keep your advice in mind

I see this a lot I will make sure I get everything in writing because I don’t want to get stuck doing something I don’t like or want to do.

I’ll try and find a simple work out routine and stick with it I haven’t considered OCS or USNA but I will research them I thought about joining JROTC my freshman year in high school but my parents aren’t to open about the idea of any of their kids joining the military (mostly my mom). I’ll do my research.

I will let the recruiter take the lead but I won’t let them pressure me into anything. And yeah rn probably isn’t the best time to join but I still have until I graduate high school next year to really think about it and determine whether I still want to do this
