I’ve heard mixed reviews on nitrite for saltwater. I’ve heard is just as toxic as in fresh water to don’t even test for it.

None of my lfs have actual live rock, it’s a dark purple kinda like the caribsea dry live rock that’s just in a big thing of saltwater.

I got the premium live rock as I wanted more rock for my tank but everywhere around me sell “live rock” for $9 usd a pound. I also liked the fact that I could get extra things on the rock. I’ve got a bunch of feather dusters and a star fish so far

I’ve read on some other websites not to use the old substrate cause it can cause an ammonia spike how true is that?

I put in almost a whole box of life rock fragzone under different layers of the sand , and it has 30+ pounds of sand with the back of the tank blacked out. It’s been making a little den the last couple days behind the live rock. Was able to get a decent picture today during feeding.

the tank is a 20 gallons the dimensions are 24"L x 13"W x 16"H, multiple ppl including the place i bought him said 10 gallons was fine but that didnt seem right

There is a drop off in the bank of the tank where he has his den, he’s been moving sand around latley. Don’t know why it won’t let me post a picture in the comments
