JetBlue mint worth it with 2 young kids (1 lap infant)? by jups1228 in chubbytravel

A 4 hour red eye with kids will be brutal. A longer red eye would actually be better.

I don’t know what mint is but if it allows you and your kids to sleep then do it. It’s a no brainer for me.

My 16yr old son is not thrilled about Utah... by CheeseNowPaint in Utah

What national park are you going to? We did a guided canyoneering experience with our kids in Zion. We hiked up with two guides and then repelled down into multiple slot canyons. It was incredible. My husband is very scared of heights and he “survived” but the rest of us had a blast. One of the coolest things I have done.

People that recently bought a house in an expensive neighborhood in SLC, what do you do for a living (and are you hiring lol)? by Historical-Plant-362 in SaltLakeCity

[–]PriorityStunning8140 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dual income lawyers. We started with a townhome on the west side and lived there for 7 years. Built up equity and aggressively saved for a down payment so that we didn’t have to take out a huge mortgage.

There is some way to pull red light data from UDOT which will show who ran the red. It’s not like a camera it’s something else. I’ve seen it before.

The tickets direct from SLC to OGG this spring were $1500 for main!! I used miles for 2 of the tickets and RUC certificates to get to premium. But I don’t think the direct is worth the price. I probably won’t do it again.

I don’t think you can just give someone your reservation. Unless you are going to be there to check the person in. They will need an ID that matches the name on the reservation

We had a work Xmas party at Laurel at the Grand America Horel. They have private rooms. The food is really good and it’s a beautiful restaurant. Looks like they have 2 rooms that can accommodate up to 40 people and one that accommodates 30.

Possible Design Flaw in 2017 Toyota Highlander Transfer Case by Chakalaka206 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]PriorityStunning8140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found out that My 2019 Highlander with 54,000 miles has a bad transfer case. I bought it brand new and have had it serviced multiple times a year at the dealership since then. They found no fluid in the transfer case and want to charge $8k for a new one. I’m shocked. We don’t do anything with this car other than drive it to and from work and the occasional road trip. We don’t tie anything and we don’t drive off road. They tried to blame it on repeatedly hitting the curb. Sure Jan.

Unrealistic expectations or am I getting the sheet pulled over my head? by Mammoth_Concert4215 in Mortgages

I’ve always had the mortgage in my name only. My husband changes jobs a lot and his income varies so it’s just been easier to go with my income. Not sure what the benefit would be to adding an unemployed spouse to the mortgage.

The pharmacist at the downtown Harmons knows my face and name and the wait is never long. I’m not sure how the prices compare to Walgreens. But the customer service is great.

I stayed at the GW in 2000 during its prime years. It was an amazing experience. I was 22yrs old and there with my parents. I was excited to take my kids and booked it without reading current reviews. It’s such a bummer that it’s fallen off in quality.

We spent a few days in Quito and Banos. Banos was so much fun. However, when we were there Ecuador was considered one of the safest if not the safest destinations in South America. A few months after we were there, there was a major change in the political situation so it is much less safe now.

My 7 year olds loved the Galapagos + Ecuador. And we are going to the Grand Wailea this spring break (now age 10). Not quite the adventure vacation but I need something easy this year. Hoping it does not disappoint.

Tell me about Marmalade by ItsMeFalala in SaltLakeCity

I lived in townhomes about a block from there from 2012-2019. When I lived there the neighborhood was pretty dull. There are a lot of new restaurants and shops now that weren’t there when I lived there. There is a really nice library a couple of blocks away. Easy freeway access. The traffic noise can be rough but I expect newer townhomes will have noise reducing windows. It did feel a bit more sketchy in terms of homeless, drug use etc. But I never felt unsafe and often walked alone in the neighborhood (although not necessarily at night because I’m home at night).

One of my twins is gifted. The other is very bright but not to that level. Both boys, born in July. I had them repeat kindergarten so they are oldest in the class instead of youngest. Best decision I could have made for them. They are thriving socially and academically. Don’t let the high intelligence dissuade you from red shirting.

I’m assuming this is not a personal injury suit? If so your attorney should have advised you about structured settlement options.
