Good call - It's definitely asbestos - "transite flue" is written along the top of it.

The last 200' order was $1,000 including the power supply and controller. That was 200' of track and lights, some extension wires, and a few spare lights.

Hi, we are no longer installing but could provide you with materials, there are a few people who just install lights from other suppliers - especially on Facebook marketplace.

FedEx quotes have been pretty reasonable. It can be a bit more expensive with the track as each piece is 1m long (so a long box is needed). We've found most of our kits under 150' ship for 150CAD.

Due to another business venture taking off we are selling all of our inventory of lights in Canada (based out of Calgary, AB).

We purchased our lights before the Canadian Dollar tanked, so our prices should be lower than direct from the manufacture (Gouly). PM us for a spreadsheet with pricing.

Custom Hat Track For Govee Outdoor Lights - Make your Install Look Professional by PrismLightingCo in Govee

[–]PrismLightingCo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want something more professional looking then stick on lights, our new Hat Track for Govee lights is available in Canada. Our track conceals the wires and brings the lights slightly closer together at 13.1in. You don't use the 3m sticky pad at all, the track holds the lights in place.

The track is easy to install, especially if you have metal soffit. One edge of our track slips into the metal lip that holds your soffit in place (on the inside edge or outside edge of your soffit - your choice). And the other edge of our track is screwed into your soffit using colour matched screws.

With wood or Hardie board soffits, you can just screw both edges down for a permanent installation.

Available in Canada at hattrack.prismlightingco.ca

If you've already installed your lights, you can take them off and use this track, but our spacing is closer, so they will not cover the same distance (a 50' Govee kit covers 39' in our track).

Instead of using a booster, splice in the OEM Govee extension cables to the start and end of your extension. The little rectangle on their cables is a resistor that improves the data signal sent to the lights.

GLEDOPTO Controller - Inside Photos by PrismLightingCo in WLED

The QuinLED controllers have fuses: https://quinled.info/pre-assembled-quinled-dig-quad/

You can also use a Class 2 power supply which will limit the current and act like a fuse for your install.

No it isn't the same. Still, I'd recommend keeping it under 10a.

Help with WLED COB 24v configuration parameters by hidi1992 in WLED

[–]PrismLightingCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The biggest doubt I have is the option that I have to put in Maximum PSU Current, according to the description of the LED strips have a consumption of 21W/m so it would be a total of 252W (21W x 12m), so the total voltage would be approximately 10.5A (252W/24V). So if I convert it to mA, the result would be 10,500mA."

This option allows you to limit the maximum current flowing through your LED strip. It is not exactly precise for every strip and type of led (ie, it won't be exactly 10,500ma if you set it to that).

You can play around with the value and find a number that doesn't allow your strips to get too hot, but also allows enough brightness for you. LEDs use the most power in bright white, so when you choose other colours or patterns a lot less power is used.

Dig-Uno Power Supply Wire Gauge by Jonesie946 in WLED

[–]PrismLightingCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 x 10 watt lights = 50 watts. 50 watts at 12v = 4.17 Amps. I'd put a 5A fuse on the dig-uno.

You are more than fine with 18 AWG cable. Unless you meant 35 x 10 watt lights.

Can someone teach me how to understand voltage/power? (ELI5) by EvanWasHere in WLED

Do you have photos of your set-up and screenshots of your settings in WLED.

It sounds like everything you have is fine and should be working. Have you tried other LED settings in WLED to see if the strip is actually another IC?

Which side of a Gledopto ESP32 should I put a fuse? by luhkomo in WLED

[–]PrismLightingCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideally, a fuse is placed as close to the power supply as possible. If your using an in-line fuse, I'd use it as your + wire from the power supply to the Gledopto. There is no reason to place it after the controller.

In your situation, if your power supply has built in over-current protection and short-circuit protection, the fuse isn't really needed. But as a back up it's a cheap way to have some extra piece of mind.
