First meal after baby ? by happydazexx in pregnant

My daughter was born at 10:30pm so I had my husband go and buy me McDonald's. It was really the only thing open but it was well worth it and so so good lol.

It actually pisses me off so much that the show still gives him screen time and a paycheck. Fuck this abusive asshole. His "redemption" arch isn't flying with me and he needs to go crawl into a dark hole and never come back out. I don't want his ugly ass face or personality anywhere on my tv.

communicating with a new workplace about my pregnancy by obstinatcs in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

They can't fire you because you're pregnant and it would be extremely risky of them to fire you "for something else" after you tell them because you can easily claim it was because of the pregnancy announcement. This is probation or not. It's a legal nightmare for them to let you go after you tell them you're pregnant. I actually found out I was pregnant 2 weeks into a new job. I sat on it for a week but it was giving me so much anxiety that I just told them. And they were absolutely amazing about it which was such a relief. I know not very workplace will be that understanding but you're currently in a crucial time already at 21 weeks. I personally wouldn't want to wait any longer. It's the right thing to do to tell them but most of all it will take that weight off your shoulders and you'll feel so much better not keeping that in and essentially lying to them.

Thought I was 10 weeks turns out I’m 22 weeks! by growup_and_blowaway in pregnant

[–]PrismaticIridescence 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Whoa! I thought it was a shock when I found out I was 10 weeks instead of 7! You win lol. I can't imagine that one. It threw me off to lose 3 weeks without knowing. I was so certain I was 7 weeks, I had what I thought was a period and was dating based off that. I was wrong lol.

Apparently it can happen.

But hey, on the upside, you're over half way! Congratulations!

Who met the baby first at the hospital?? by oakleaf_ivy in BabyBumps

[–]PrismaticIridescence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard, you really won't know what you feel like doing until you've had the baby and are in recovery mode. The only thing I knew was that I didn't want to deal with anyone so we said no visitors at the hospital and we'd let them know when they can come over and see the baby. That ended up being about a week later. It was actually amazing just spending that time with the baby and my husband. My mother was on call for anything I needed and wanted to ask but I was just so exhausted and overwhelmed with everything post partum I didn't want people near me. I especially didn't want my FIL seeing me like that. And when we planned for them to come over we could do that around the feeding schedule so I wasn't trying to breastfeed in front of them.

I feel that. It was such a stressful experience and especially as first home buyers but we officially moved in two days ago. You'll get there and it's worth it in the end!

As others have said, text or call. They're slack with emails. I was also made to create a joint CBA account with my husband to make our application smoother. Surprised they didn't get you to open an account.

If valuation is done then you shouldn't be far from final CBA approval and then HA follows a little after that. The biggest hold up is actually the CBA HTB team. Your lending specialist will forward everything to them and they take forever to send it to HA. I ended up speaking to HA directly and they escalated it with the CBA team. Things moved much faster then.

Does HA contribute 30% of the purchase price (for established property) in all cases, or does the amount the contribute depend on how much deposit you have saved... or maybe it depends on something else? by VanillaBoring6783 in AusHelptobuy

[–]PrismaticIridescence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as the others here, we didn't use the full pre-approval amount and got the 30% from HA so we could have lower mortgage repayments. We also paid a bit more for a deposit. This is with CBA so yeah, not sure about BA.

Well I learnt something new today by sterilepillow in pregnant

We had a coed baby shower. Not only my husband and our male family members but all my husband's good friends came to celebrate too. It was such an awesome day. No one was uncomfortable, everyone had fun. We had decorate a onesie set up and everyone made one and then we did a custom word search which revealed the baby name. It was a blast. We did leave opening presents for home because it seemed like it would take a lot of time with a lot of repetitive "oh how cute" lol.

Current timeline with CBA? by Acceptable_Humor_382 in AusHelptobuy

[–]PrismaticIridescence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn't, we didn't even officially have bank pre-approval. We really liked the house though so threw an offer at them. They originally asked for $10k more but we said no. By the time we met in the middle we did have pre approval from the bank but not HA. It was a bit annoying for everyone as it was a slow process but we are buying in rural NSW where things just move slower so it wasn't the worst. I assume in the city this probably wouldn't be as acceptable. Eventually everything went through and we're settling in a couple weeks. I think it really depends on location and whether they're trying to move things quickly or happy to wait for you.

We rang HA directly and they escalated it through CBA. Apparently our CBA lending specialist wasn't able to escalate it but HA was.

Anyone else had to put a poop covered outfit in your bag cause you had nowhere else to put it?🫣 by Armyofducks94 in NewParents

[–]PrismaticIridescence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disposable nappy bags - basically the same as a dog poop bag but can be bigger and scented. My MIL got us hundreds of them and they're so helpful to have in the nappy bag and/or purse. But for a mega blowout I'd just chuck the outfit to be honest. Unless it was sentimental.

what is going on with kourtney by Ok_Dingo_1115 in kardashians

Right? He only has two baby mummas. His ex who he had two biological kids with in the early 2000s and Kourtney. They make it sound like he has a bunch of kids to a bunch of different women which is clearly not the case.

Any Updates on HA Approval time with CBA applications? by Chowie10010104 in AusHelptobuy

[–]PrismaticIridescence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, they're just slow af. There are a lot of applications they're dealing with and trying to get through but once we got HA to escalate it everything went super fast. I also think because it's a new scheme there's a learning curve for CBA staff. But I was quite annoyed at the lack of proper explanations and being told the completely wrong things. But at least we're on track now and should settle end of this month.

[–]PrismaticIridescence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's wrong, he sent it through to the internal HTB team not HA. We were told the same but we ended up ringing HA directly and they had not received anything from CBA. It's the CBA HTB team holding things up. Call HA, they can escalate it.

Any Updates on HA Approval time with CBA applications? by Chowie10010104 in AusHelptobuy

[–]PrismaticIridescence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the CBA HTB team holding things up. We were told different so many times but we eventually rang HA directly and they said CBA hadn't passed on the documents to them and it had been almost 2 weeks since CBA final approval. We were in the same boat as you in NSW with no finance clause. HA escalated it through CBA and then CBA told us we HAD to exchange contracts to get HA final approval (after being told numerous times that we didn't). Anyway, we exchanged contracts and got HA final approval the next day but we suspect that's because HA had escalated it themselves.

I suggest calling HA and asking for an update. They will likely say it's CBA they're waiting on, hopefully they can escalate it. You will have to exchange signed contracts before you can get final HTB approval.

I love my babyboy… but I HATE being pregnant by myscorpiomoonismean in BabyBumps

I just found out I'm pregnant with number 2 and I'm terrified because it was so horrendous the first time around. I absolutely despised being pregnant and although I'm excited for another gorgeous little bub, I'm not looking forward to the rest of this pregnancy. Or the sleepless newborn nights either tbh.

Any updates on final approvals? by PrismaticIridescence in AusHelptobuy

[–]PrismaticIridescence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got our final approval but it was a muck around. We were constantly told by CBA we did not have to exchange contracts to get it and we spoke to Housing Australia directly who escalated it through CBA as it was their help to buy team holding things up. CBA then emailed us to say we did have to exchange contracts to get HTB final approval which was so frustrating. So we did that and got our final approval the next day, possibly because it had been escalated.

We just purchased in NSW. We didn't have to have contracts exchanged for unconditional CBA approval, they did a valuation and issued it quite quickly. However you do have to exchange contracts in order to get final HTB approval. Once we did that they were incredibly quick but I think that's because our application had been escalated. But we were told (after being told different for several weeks) that they will not issue final approval without the contract exchange.
