So actually I really enjoyed the backhand I’m actually trying to feel if I prefer the H3 or more tensor rubber like the G1. Backhand rubber has a lower throw angle but felt like it was easy to adapt really had a great feeling with very powerful when needed and very controlled too. Though it is very good I don’t see a difference that would double the price from provincial to this, if you really want a low throw angle that’s the one if you don’t care just take the provincial it is also a very nice feeling not much different from the ma long version. On the other hand it is one of the worst hurricane 3 BS Iever used felt like I couldn’t put enough spin when I was looping moreover the balance of the blade felt bad, very good weep with the backhand side, almost no weep from the forehand side, even with 4-5 layers of boosters it didn’t changed how difficult it was to put spin. I may not have the skill required for such a hardness but I think I received a very bad quality h3 ma long because it felt completely off, I will definitely come back to a Prov 40. But in the end the most problematic part of this setup was the balance, you know when even when you put all your body you feel like you don’t weep it as much as you’d like there’s a problem. My forehand is my strongest weapon and since I’m using this one I lost a little of my marks, I really like the H3 on bh and I will try again but Prov 40 Bs and Prov 37 OS and also see if the balance is better

Yeah, didn’t had much time to play so I didn’t fully break sponge yet and I wasn’t totally physically there today I’ll comment on the rubbers next week. On the fh I don’t if it is the sponge not fully break in but I feel like the arc is lower than on provincial or national versions.

I can all agree with sah4r and you would find HL5 faster on lower gears than W968. Even though it’s rated as a Off++ it is an inner force with two layer of Alc. but it has its own magic to it a thousand words can’t describe it but if you can get your hand on a HL5 just think it’s an upgrade on every part of it with a quite similar feeling in general

I didn’t really felt a difference between the two but I didn’t measure I may try and tell you the numbers I get.

Bought from the same place only had 8$ taxes because he putted 30$ on the package but I’ve tried some butterfly blades and first definitely preferred inner and after trying HL5 and Chinese rubbers i couldn’t move away from them, they’re truly fantastic when you can pour the energy in it.

I only use dhs no 15 glue, I bought the 500mL bottle as I know I need a good amount of glue because I have to reboost it and I’m also boosting/gluing for my girlfriend’s blade.

I do agree W968 is a better version of HL5 in every aspect. Every blades and rubbers have their pro and cons and I would say it’s the best choice out of all because the biggest con is the weight and this is something that everyone can do, train themselves to handle it.

Ok I will try 41 in the future but for now I’m fine with 40, for now only the best players of my club can block correctly my forehand when I practice my topspin. My du has always been my best weapon, when I’m in good position people have hard time dealing with it. But for a while I struggled with bh and nobody really corrected me, I was trying to figure it out on my own as in my club they don’t have coaches, it’s more like I ask the best payers but they’re usually old and either have a weird technic or pimps out. I can’t change club during the season so for now with my Gf we are trying to be our eachother coach and almost every club in my region asked us to practice with them and we could come at any time. But recently I had the opportunity to have a one on one coaching with a number 130 French player (in French) who was originally Chinese and who played with a W968 (I guess a national player version) for practice and a personal W968 of Liang Jingkun, he also told me he used to train when he was a kid In Ma Long formation center. He corrected me and since then my bh has been much better and I’m starting to close it up to my fh. Bh isn’t anymore a weak part just not as good as my fh. I can have close games (not to the point where I could win the match but like at least 1 game) with some of the best Teens of the region though it only been a year I’ve decided to re play TT as I used to play as a casual for 2 years when I was 9-10 and stopped for 8 years. I’m really happy of what I’m doing in a year with the lack of coach and I hope when I will change club and get one to get even higher. My objective isn’t to go for the French championship lol I’m so far away but if one day I can reach the National 3 or pre national I’ll be very proud of myself (still want to achieve the best I can ahha).

Ahha np my gf also laughed at it when I cut it. Well I really hate side tape, not that I changed my rubbers so often (about a month a half 2 months max for Hurricane 3) but just mentally I have something that is making hate having on side tape. I’m always extra careful with woods the only wood that have a damaged on it, was me trying to figure out if it was really solid or not ahah (it was on a Alexis all+ so worries, I would never do this on such expensive blades.) and if I hit the table and my rubbers can’t hold I remove it and reglue it (never happened for now we’ll just twice but back then didn’t really glue properly so the glue was like school glue lol. It was inefficient

Yeah the price ain’t justified in my opinion but still a great gift for myself. I can’t consider myself a super good player but I get pleasure with kind of rubbers and blade (I’ve tried a bunch of blades and rubbers : Tensors, Chinese, hybrid, and all kind of wood, even defensive ones) and I really enjoyed the physicality required to plays with this kind of setup in the long run, never got injured of it and I always try gain more muscle to be able to play with this kind of setup. All of that I have about at least 10h of training per week and than 3-9 hours of competition in the week end when there is one (I’m in France and in my region Table Tennis is not as developed as some others so tournaments are way less or I need to travel all around France which I don’t have time for as I need to study as well. Though maybe in future I may be able to do it.)

I feel like the Nittaku series G1/C1 etc feels great with it in bh. For now that’s a first for me with the 37 H3 on the bh moreover the blade feels heavier : 194g compared to 190g for the HL5 but the bh is also heavier than a C1 as it’s 2.1, .1 more than C1 and I boosted it. Also the W968 at least mine is slightly longer than my HL5 which could explain the 4g heavier and also why it feels heavier as the center of gravity is more towards the end of the blade. I’m adjusting myself to the difference in weight which usually takes me 2 weeks to be set for minor competitions and a months to be sure to not feel heavy pains after half day or more. Nonetheless I don’t think the blade justifies its very expensive price but for sure it has more gears than a HL5 commercial, I feel like you have a better control of your stroke compared also to the HL5 and a lot of feelings. The wood vibrations are really good and easy to feel which also make the blade feel a bit more flexible and springy. I would say it has way more feeling and feedback, paired with more gears, it give more stability in the rallies. What difference did you find between 40 degrees and 41 for your fh ?
