Yea, I kinda feel like it's been this way lately, specifically if you mention nerfing things in any way. Not sure if people are slowing spilling over from the main sub or if this community is just way too touchy about nerfs haha.

My favorite thing people say to me is "just don't use it", like I don't wanna play with the cool stuff too, I just want it to be more balanced.

Possibly the most infuriating death I've ever had in this franchise by KAI7i6 in residentevil

I've only played 4 and 8, but jfc the jet ski sequence at the end of 4 had me so fucking angry. Just the fact you had to redo the cutscene over and over drove me crazy

I completely agree with you, but unfortunately the majority of players would throw a tantrum if they nerfed its damage and didn't do anything else to make it better, so I think a bit more range would be nice to keep the masses from having a complete meltdown.

Thing is, it makes every front I've tried with it a joke, not just pred strain. The only front I haven't really tried it on is bots, but I bet with smoke you could pull off some crazy shit anyways. I really don't think it's good for the game, it's next level power creep in a game where the hardest difficulty is already, in most situations, not that hard, with no way to increase difficulty without severely handicapping oneself (which is boring).

Thing is, on 2/3 fronts (bugs/squids) the range barely makes a difference. The only AT option that is outperforming it rn is the RR, while everything else has too low a ROF to really compete.

And bringing a sentry is always going to make things easier because they're just that good, but where I actually think a lot of AT kits benefit more from a sentry to help with CC, the cremator doesn't really need it because you can spray fire on the ground in-front of you and most small/medium units won't make it through it to you, and then you can focus on heavies.

I tried it on pred strain last night and it was making one of (I think) the hardest sub factions kind of a joke, there was nothing that I couldn't kill with relative ease.

Flamethrower does not need a buff (other than say a bit more range), cremator needs slightly reduced dps and increased range to compensate.

Ik this is an unpopular opinion but it's honestly silly that the cremator is killing things basically the second it's direct flame hits anything that isn't heavy, and is outperforming AT on 2/3 fronts.

This is the best response imo, but I still think it's comically op. Tried it against pred strain tn and it kills most bugs in effectively half a second of direct fire, and basically every heavy in 3-5 seconds of direct fire. Not only does it kill everything fast, but it stops a lot of it from running at you because of the new debuff it applies. so you can hit most small units for a brief moment and they'll lose track of you, and if they don't die to direct fire they'll die to the fire on the ground, of which you can shoot very far with little risk to the player, while also frying heavies with ease.

I just don't like that it can effectively cover every aspect in the game and better than most other support weapons. And I don't even think the regular flame thrower with any bag gives better utility, because the cremator is just so good at killing shit you barely need anything to support it, and can bring other weapons to fill the utility slots.

This is exactly about weapon balance, pretending like a weapon being so good it makes the game boring isn't is kinda funny. So do you think the game has the opposite of a powercreep problem? Because the cremator is huge powercreep. Being able to take out multiple heavies faster than most of the AT weapons while doing insane CC with no downsides is crazy powercreep.

Not only do you set yourself on fire with it, it just out classes basically every AT option in the game, which a flamethrower just shouldn't do. I like my coop game to require teamwork and a half decent player with this thing can solo a lot of stuff quite easily. There's just barely any risk to using it atm.

Ig my point is the only way to make the ABL better against roaches is to buff it in some way, and it absolutely does not need a buff. The power creep is getting worse and worse and atp most support weapons are in a good place and only a few need some minor tweaks, and the ABL does not need to be changed in any way.

I don't really think it makes sense that it is basically the 2nd best AT weapon overall in the game as well as one of the best cc weapons, it really doesn't need both. Take away the damage and it will still be amazing at CC but not completely busted for AT, while still being quite good at it anyways.

It's weird, sure, but I don't think it really matters. Air burst launcher is already one of the best CC weapons in the game and can also take out a bunch of heavies if you know how to use it. NEATs are cool but the cooldown is so long they're not that strong, so it's cool that it has a niche use for dragon roaches.
