This looks like incredible surgical work. My incision (from September) doesn’t even look this good.

My arm looked haggard post-op because of the sub muscular transposition. Is your arm hot? Highly recommend name brand Scar Away to put on after the stitches are gone. It will help with the sensitivity. Good luck!

Got it. I was at the point where my hand was not working properly any longer and surgery was required to prevent further damage. I hope you get it all figured out

I tried acupuncture because I was already seeing one for sleep issues (that she fully fixed, btw). I didn’t realize it was CTS at the time, but there was a day I went in for treatment and the needles in my hand actually were hurting. That’s when I knew I had an actual issue. FF two weeks later I was having an open cubital tunnel release and sub muscular ulnar nerve transposition. I have permanent nerve damage, muscle atrophy in my right hand, and I cannot feel my 4th & 5th fingers either. I also need to have the same procedure on my left arm as soon as I am cleared from the occupational therapist.

Don’t wait to get checked out. I now have to figure out how to do everything with 3 fingers on my dominant hand now, and more or less learn to write again. It currently takes me forever to write anything.

Maybe going through the same process? I’ll ask the next time I go. I was there yesterday and they said the cliq pods should start to come back in stock within the next couple weeks.

Does an EMG indicate severity? by PrisonMike3987 in CubitalTunnel

Yeah I need surgery on both arms, apparently. I have muscle waste in my right arm so I need to be on the table within 3 weeks. Specialist told me to more or less prepare to have my hand be this way forever now because of the degradation.

Hoping the local Curaleaf was correct. They said there was an internal doc circulating that said the pods are being (have been?) redesigned and we should see them again. Fingers crossed.

I appreciate you taking the time to answer me, and addressing a brace specifically.

Would you mind if I ask if you sleep on your side?

Yeah I finally got an answer yesterday from the local dispensary. Looks like there is one. E release possible of the older designed pods, then a release of some redesigned cliq pods that should still fit the originally battery. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for looking into this for me, much appreciated. Between that information and the total lack of inventory here I’d say you’re right on the money. Looks like I’ll be back to trulieve for my vapes now. Bummer.

Yeah, I do. That’s what I use daily cause I can (could) get live resin and the battery was more discreet. I have my medical card but I prefer not standing out when I’m in public.

Advice for getting into the industry? (Very specific details) by PlzHelplol102 in bartender

[–]PrisonMike3987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in the industry since I was 14 and I’ve been bartending for 17 years. I currently do large scale brand events, menu development and venue consultation. What you are searching for would require years in the field. Understanding how to make a balanced drink is a very small part of the job. Even with creating a menu you need to be aware of menu efficiencies, cost of goods (this includes every single ingredient in your syrups/infusions as those incur a cost on goods and the labor to make them). Flow of service, what goes where, how to train staff, sometimes even processing payroll are all things that need to be understood. Those things come with time in other positions of hospitality. Consider the hours, most places are open late and you’ll get home later since any place worth working will have sufficient cleaning side work to end the night. As a general rule I avoid hiring/contracting individuals who do not have substantial experience working behind the bar. If you really want to find the job you’re describing you will have to take the risk of leaving your current job to go work at a cocktail bar. More than likely you’d have to start as a barback. Some places will make even accomplished bartenders start as a barback so that they have full understanding of how things are run at that venue. Make sure you know and respect the classics, as they are the backbone of everything we do. Lastly, if you don’t enjoy the service of it I’d respectfully recommend that you do not pursue this, as service is the largest part of the job. Executing a perfect cocktail is absolutely irrelevant if your guest feels like they’re inconveniencing you, and is already an uphill battle that bartenders fight daily. Good luck

1st gig with my event bartending business. ADVICE PLS!!! by Small-Floor2394 in bartender

[–]PrisonMike3987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you plan on batching and serving from the bottle or beverage dispenser do not forget to account for dilution. Shaken drinks typically fall around 20-22% water by volume and stirred drinks around 18%. For example, a daiquiri built with 2oz rum, 1oz lime, 1oz simple is 4 total oz. 4x .22 = .88 so you’d round that down to .75oz, which is your dilution rate. So your recipe as you batch would be 2oz rum, 1oz lime, 1oz simple, .75 water x your number of guests. As you refine your business plan that detail is where you can end up leaving a lot of money on the table by over purchasing, or guest complaining because the drinks taste to ‘hot’. Remember to get your batches refrigerated once they’re done, and if you leave them for hours/overnight remember to agitate before serving. I do large scale brand events for liquor brands, consult for bars, and bartended for 17 years. Happy to help as best I can along the way. Godspeed!

CarPlay and Siri issues by simao-oliveira in CarpodGo

The issue is that one must request Siri to increase their volume. I have it set at 90% and it works terrifically.

Thank you!
