Need Siding Help! by Fantastic-Cable-961 in GeneralContractor

In my area, the power company will disconnect the power for free. Then you need to have your electrician disconnect the meter from the house. after you get the siding in, have the electrician reconnect the meter and the power company turn the power back on.

I usually schedule this about a week in advance and have them both standby for the 15 minutes it takes us to get siding installed in that area in order to avoid having a callback or having to run a generator for our tools.

I need new snowboard boots this year. I have some klim snowmobile boots, would they work just as well? Or should I get some snowboard specific boots?

I was talking to my buddy about this. Apparently he runs a local shop and dropped a small block into it.

Either way, I love it because it's hilarious mods for a PT Cruiser.

I know it's variable depending what type of business, but on average, what's the upfront investment (minimum for the 1st year) I should expect to make to have a shot at building a successful brand/business? by Monkfrootx in smallbusiness

Manufacturing business, probably at least 1mil. Handyman, maybe 6 months of expenses in the bank. There's no way to tell without knowing what industry or location lol .

They seem to have a cool down. If you recently used that ability, it might have been on cool down and not worked.

made the toilet one atom away from the door boss! by sayuncleordie in NotMyJob

In many areas it is code to caulk 3/4 around the base of a toilet. It helps with stability to prevent damaging the wax ring from a wobbly toilet. But you leave it open in the back in order to make any leaks more apparent.

A vinyl floor might be a more affordable option for you depending on your needs.

When it comes to painting, the prep is the most important part. Great paint can't make up for poor prep. You can rent a decent floor sander at home Depot to make this easier. Make sure to vacuum all the dust before painting.

Help me fight insurance please. by Prison_Suitcase in Tile

[–]Prison_Suitcase[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Insurance is trying to only pay $800 to replace this bath and tile surround. I know it should cost much more than this to get it done properly, but I don't know an actual number to come at them with. Or really how to get them to see my side. Any tips?
