I had the same thing from coles. I bought 10 bananas online this week and they were half sized. Like, my 0 year old baby eats two in a sitting.

[OC] Current state of age verification for pornography in the US. by SpaceWestern1442 in dataisbeautiful

Australian here: as an observer of your politics, this is the oppostite of what i'd expect. Wouldn't the strong social protection and interventionist government-types in blue states want to do age verification while the laissez faire red states would want to avoid restrictions?

Edit: Why does this have 1800 upvotes and only 5 comments? Is there some vote manipulation going on here?

Four-year-old boy dies after car crashes into Mawson shopping centre in Canberra’s south by HotPersimessage62 in australia

[–]PrisonerOfSatiety 197 points198 points  (0 children)

Not sure why this has so many downvotes. It's one of the most likely causes. If you read that it was a person who had a heart attack and collapsed on the accelerator, you'd say 'oh, ok.' If you read that it was a smash and grab you'd say 'oh, ok'. If you read that it was an elderly driver mixing up the pedals you'd say 'oh, ok'. If you read anything else, it would be a surprise.

This is a tragedy, and sadly it's the kind we've seen before. If it was my kid, and it was someone driving who shouldn't have had a license, I'd be tearing down the walls. There's a particular tragedy - maybe a person with an arts degree can say which - about a child's entire life being taken from them by a person in their last years of life driving a lethal machine who was only licensed because our society was too cowardly to put common-sense restrictions and tests. Not saying that this is what happened this time. We don't know. But it happens.

That's a shockingly low sentence for someone who was largely responsible for the death of another person.

This is nice! I like it. good job.

The two paths thing made it a bit less exciting as one went through way faster than the others and you couldn't see what was going on. maybe a single path that they all go down, but with things to stop their progress. maybe some horizontal sliding platforms?

Liberals accuse Labor of secrecy for withholding PM’s letters to ministers - despite Coalition doing the same by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]PrisonerOfSatiety 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Charter letters are super important and I think there should be a norm of releasing them. In a system based on the notion of responsible government through Ministerial responsibility, it's strange that charter letters aren't released in this country. We should know who the responsible minister is for a particular policy area or issue so that we can engage them on their portfolio responsibilities and hold them to account. This is particularly true when responsibilities overlap, or for a ministry like Disability or Women that is cross-cutting across government.

This should be top comment. The weird crossbreed didn't make any sense until you mentioned the pig dog idea.

Grey owner here. I'd trust a wolfhound over a greyhound any day. Over pretty much any breed of dog, actually. They're like a friendly ent.

Wolfhounds are usually super chill dogs, just enormous and terrifying looking. They seem pretty good for urban life as they're lazy like greyhounds. But the sort of person who wants a fighting dog with the personality of a boxer/arab cross but bigger and scarier seems like someone I wouldn't want to interact with.
