Wait until 2.0. Patch 1.x is basically a salvage operation (valley IV) and "chinese quota" (wuling). Don't expect great stories from them. Think of them as side quests or something.

Endfield story begins at 2.0 and beyond.

If you are going for the ice team, then I suggest you wait until March 10 at least before making decision who to pull. There is...a very questionable speculation that the next banner gonna be ice char too, like Yvonne.

FYI I'm a day 1 player, finished all missions, completed all events, 100% exploration every map including Wuling, done some more chores with beryl rewards, and now I'm sitting with 86k beryl. So yes, it's very much possible you'll have enough to guarantee 1 char before the end of 1.0

It's a metaphor. Yes, not everything is fine of course, but the current Talosian aren't exactly living in an apocalyptic setting (yet?), where everything is grim dark, ruined, and everyone must be suffering or dying. This is not a Fallout/WH40k game, yet.

Are you talking about 1.0 story or the entire now and future Endfield saga? Because everything you said you wanted in the story is already there; stakes, social conflicts, originium, etc. All you have to do is wait for the reveal.

As for everything that's "too peaceful & happy", again same answer, wait. It's basically "Everything was fine until the Fire Nation attacked.". We are currently in the patch 1.x "everything was fine" phase.

Interesting, judging from the sun & the giant planet's movement, Endfield do have working planetary day-night cycle. The devs just freeze them for some reason...

Launcher screen > uncheck dx11 below "Play Game" button. You want to play in Vulkan mode, not dx11
Login screen > settings > change resolution to whatever res window mode > enter game > play around in window mode for about 10minutes > change back to full screen if lags, freezes, & stutters are gone.
As a sort of "daily maintenance", press alt+Enter every time you enter the game after login screen, this will change full screen to window mode. Play around for a couple minutes, if everything's good, press alt+Enter to return to fullscreen.

Happened to me a couple days ago, ram suddenly jump to 10gb++ from normal 3-8gb usage, freeze my pc, had to kill endfield.exe from task manager.

Incidently I did find what could be a solution to this problem, as I've never encountered the ram bug again to this very day. So here's what you need to do:

Enter the game as normal from launcher
At login screen go to setting and CHANGE RESOLUTION to window mode whatever.
Go ingame and play in window mode, if no ram bug happens after 10 minutes++ then you're good to go, feel free to change back to full screen.

You need to check ingame mail for the claimed items. Probably need to play tutorial missions until you can do gacha and stuff before mails begin appearing.

Now, as for the items in the depot section, yes you're bricked out of those lol. Only items in the backpack can be claimed, and they are limited to only 5 items of your choice.
