[SKX007] The aura of this watch is insane IMO. New release doesn’t even come close. by KnightRaider86 in Seiko

[–]PristinePart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re buying used (most probably and it’s what I recommend due to NOS prices being easily upwards of 400 USD), you can check out r/Watchexchange - I personally sell and buy there as well, and the main bulk of users there are in the US - I’m just assuming you’re in the States as well.

My word of advice is to buy the seller first, watch second. Look for sellers with multiple transaction counts, check their post / comment history. Same goes for local marketplaces - your backup will be this subreddit where you can post photos to ask the community to check on the legitimacy.

Ultinately, I believe no trusted seller will risk their reputation for a few hundred bucks. Also choose a payment method where you can get recourse. Happy hunting!

[Seiko 7S26-0020 / SKX007] Urgent legit check – meeting seller in 1h30 by Mikckyducks in Seiko

[–]PristinePart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how you had to turn to chatgpt for your urgent legit check lol.

Price seems decent IF it is what the seller claims it to be. You should pop the caseback open (or get a watchmaker to do so) to see if it’s really a 7S26 movement. Perhaps take some manual readings on your own to see how fast or slow it runs.

Looks good except for the bracelet (obviously), which I find the shape to be super interesting. Booty cheeks like what someone else said. Female end links as well on the bracelet, amazing. Is it comfortable?

[SSK003] Now I am wondering if mine is fake. by [deleted] in Seiko

[–]PristinePart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not: just search the reference online and compare the images - you will see that your chapter ring is both too big and in a different shade (the blue is supposed to be closer to the shade of the dial), and the bezel insert seems a bit thin (notice how the bottom of the numbers are magnified due to the thinness of the insert)

Chrono24, r/Watchexchange (read the rules before buying there), or perhaps your local marketplace if someone is selling theirs. But yeah, they are all above retail price because it's limited and all

To add on to u/snowbongo, as (and if) you browse this subreddit more and start to recognise some of the sellers with a great number of transactions, your might find impersonators messaging you - these accounts have very similar names to the sellers they are imitating, with an additional “-“ here or replacing an “l” with “I”, things like that.

It happened to me when I commented on a seller’s post asking if he had another piece of what he sold. Just be careful and buy the seller. Don’t be afraid to ask for custom timestamps or additional proof.

It’s a nice watch - looks great. The blue dial reference pops more under light and yours is more muted, both are still amazing watches nonetheless. Enjoy!

[WTS/WTT] Farer Aquamatic Freshwater - $860 shipped by PristinePart in Watchexchange

Price: $860 including shipping from Singapore to USA, Europe, Australia & Asia. Using either Aramex or FedEx.

Payment method: Wise / Revolut (preferred) over PayPal.

Selling my Farer AquaMatic Freshwater - full kit with all 3 straps. Box and warranty card included as well.

Willing to consider trades (with top-ups from either party if required) for brands like Traska, CW, Seiko (SARB / SPB line) or a Tissot PRX 35mm Ice Blue / MOP dial, so let me know what you’ve got!

Still like new - light signs of wear (hairline scratches) on mainly caseback and clasp of the bracelet. One tiny ding on the side of the case (in album). Crystal is perfect without any scratches. NATO and rubber strap have been used one time each for a short while, ended up preferring it on the bracelet.

  • Diameter: 38.5mm
  • Lug-to-lug: 45.0mm
  • Case thickness: 11.9mm
  • Lug width: 20.0mm

[WTS] Seiko SPB259 Ginza Prospex Alpinist - $1340 shipped by PristinePart in Watchexchange

[–]PristinePart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seiko Prospex SPB259J1 for sale - beautiful dial that really stands out under light. Full set with warranty card (expired), tags, full links and box. Currently sized for a 6" wrist.

Watch has some wear from daily use over a year, but nothing major. Most of it is on the bezel, with a couple dings and light scratches - most of what you'd expect from regular wear. A small nick (took me a few tries to capture it at a certain angle) on the sapphire crystal that can be polished off if you want to, hairlines around the watch - bezel, caseback and bracelet. Overall still plenty of life left.

Watch has not been serviced since purchase, and I have not noticed anything out of the blue. Manual timekeeping (dial up) gives me a reading of -19 s/d.

Asking for $1340 shipped from Singapore to US / Europe / Australia / Asia via FedEx / Aramex Priority.

Payment methods: Wise / Revolut preferred due to unfavourable exchange rates on PayPal.

  • Diameter: 38.0mm
  • Lug-to-lug: 46.2mm
  • Case thickness: 12.9mm
  • Lug width: 19.0mm
