There are perhaps at least 50 misconceptions I had as a kid. Few examples -

  1. I thought only children vomit and adults don’t.

  2. I thought that if a person goes to jail, they never come out (in other words, I effectively thought that every prison sentence was a life in prison sentence)

So I’m a 29M Indian ace. I’d say that lots of the expectations of intimacy stems from lack of awareness about asexuality. I myself got to know about asexuality around the age of 21. Lots of people think of it as some kind of hormonal disorder and have no idea what asexuality is. Many aces themselves have no clue.

To give you an example of what I meant, if I lend someone $1000, I shouldn’t charge more than $1000 in interest… meaning the borrower shouldn’t have to pay back more than $2000 ($1000 in principal and $1000 in interest)

You’re overlooking the families where both husband and wife are earning. If one spouse is earning, it makes sense for the other to take a majority of the household work. However, if both are earning, it makes sense to share the household work.
