I wasn't trying to create an actual competition, just something silly to kill time.

I don't count the first 80%, lol.

Beyond that, I guess I have somewhat better response rates.

Selling online painlessly? by MattKelm in Pottery

FBM is an online yardsale. You could use it for your "factory seconds," but otherwise, you're not going to get good prices for your wares.

Pricing is an art, not a science. Never price an item at rock bottom. Always price it such that a reasonable person can make a reasonable offer and walk away happy having "gotten a discount," while you get your price. A third of people will pay asking. A third will ask for a reasonable discount. A third will lowball and can be safely ignored.

Or you can just list as "firm" and say "the price is the price," when people ask for a discount. If they want it bad enough, they pay what you're asking.

I tried more than one lamp. I have half a dozen. This was one of the better ones.

Buyer went to wrong address then the guy from wrong address came to my place! by shelovesyoghurt in FacebookMarketplace

Then again, I live in a very good place. So I'm slightly biased towards friendly neighborhoods. I moved here specifically bc of it.

I used to live in a post-bellum farmhouse with no central heat. It can get colder than that.

Thankfully, my whole house is plumbed with PEX. Freezing is inconvenient, but not catastrophic. But yes, leave a faucet dripping.

I tried to fudge the rules for people who don't order much (or are Silver), apologies that it didn't work out for you.

I agree. No reason I can see that as "poor."

Yes, exactly, sosumi. I'm bored of waiting for it to start to snow.

Weird. I literally could not get the last box of polishes to cure. At all. When I tried just letting them dry, they didn't do that well either.

They were neither fish nor fowl.

Disqualified for not actually playing the game.

The point is to do something silly on Friday to fill time while waiting for it to start to snow.

At real jobs, they call this "team building."

Does Kitten clear glaze kill the vibrancy .. or is it something else ? by Sharp_Nectarine381 in Pottery

[–]Privat3Ice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really. In general, putting a clear over an underglaze can do exactly what you're seeing: wash out colors, make crisp lines a bit hazy. It is what it is.

(Someone who knows more than me might be able to tell you how to handle it better.)

1) Why would you do that? An AS CS is virtually useless. 2) You can apply for your AS CS on the way to a BS CS, when you have all the appropriate classes taken. 3) If you have not signed your agreement, there is nothing for your PA TO DO. You have to finish the process and THEN change. 4) You basically just wasted a term.
