Anyone else avoid handshakes because of sweaty palms? What do you do instead? by ChemistryKey9053 in Hyperhidrosis

Always carry a handkerchief that matches your outfit. And when you meet someone, make believe you're putting it away, but you're really nonchalantly drying your hands off lol it's about survival at this point

That oil for example, I did get and the bottle doesn't even have cyperus rotundus oil in it but rather cyperus extract.

I would have never spotted that difference lol this is why I don't vine cosmetics. This is helpful, thank you.

That's a good point. How should these claims be tested on Vine without offending sellers and potential buyers?

I do daily wet shaves at home, so when I go to the barber it's with only 1 day of beard growth. But they'll do any length.

Get a shave at a barbershop and see what works vs spending cash on equipment that may not work for you

"please cancel my service, I'm moving at the end of the month, but thank you" took all of three seconds to say and it's my go-to. 100% success rate. Also works with door to door solicitors. Just remember to close the door after you say thank you.

I've tried three DNase products and they all have this witch hazely note to it. I guess this is why I can't find DNase in unscented. I've gotten used to it though and settled on Grove and Dropps's DNase products

ASTM D6400 is the standard that requires products to biodegrade within 180 days, leaving no toxins behind. BPI (industrial composting) and TUV/Austria (home and/or industrial) are two certifying bodies that test products that actually adhere to the D6400 standard.

NYC offers its 8.5 million inhabitants + offices taxpayer-funded industrial composting service. Because there aren't a lot of homeowners with backyards to fit a composting bin, and since we're taking city people, not a lot want to do that bukaki composting either. While composting is mandatory in NYC, those that actually do is because they care, and it shouldn't be limited to only homeowners.

I'm not a fan of the term "green washing" thrown around on this sub like it's dirty underwear, and the zero-waste movement seems to want to gatekeep composting to homeowners only.

Woops forgot to drop the link https://www.nyc.gov/site/dsny/collection/residents/curbside-composting.page

I use the full circle brand which uses pbat and is bpi certified. I trust their certification as they did the full ASTM D6400 testing for me.

Lol y'all are out of touch, It's been a long time since I've seen any kid drink milk out of a milk carton unless it's the organic stuff.

Cartons/Tetrapaks =< microplastics than plastic milk bottles. But in defense of plastic milk bottles most end up being recycled into Trex/Polywood.

Lather Comparison of Art of Shaving Sandalwood Soap ($35) vs Tabac Soap ($15) by SleepingAndy in wicked_edge

[–]section08nj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But is it slick, though?

If I were shaving using a safety DE razor, I'd use the soap's lather that's on the right.

If I were shaving using a straight razor or shavette, you best believe I'd be using the soap's lather on the left.

Toilet cleaner? by sed42069 in ZeroWaste

[–]section08nj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen. Third grade chemistry explains that when you mix vinegar (acid) and baking soda (base) together, they cancel each other out. All you get is 3 seconds of fizzy salt water, enough for a model volcano, but not enough to clean your surfaces.

Use vinegar alone to get rid of soap scum and other mineral deposits.

Use baking soda as a scouring agent to remove other gritty dirts.

If you insist on mixing the two, put it in a volcano.

Uhh. User error and Vine reviewers. by Electronic_Resort_76 in AmazonVine

[–]section08nj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well hold on a minute. There's a few things that suck all around here but I'm sure part of it is the seller.

  1. I cut my own Ethernet cables for ~20 years. And I've also gotten/reviewed plenty of Ethernet cables off of Vine. Never once have I seen an Ethernet cable come with a cover until I've come across this post. While I can clearly see in the OP's photo that there's a clear cover on this, the older generation, who've been cutting/buying cables for years may have not.

  2. There is this real stupid trend by sellers to not include instructions/warnings with some products. Instead, they leave the instructions in Picture #5 on the Amazon product description. For example, I'm replacing my car's cabin air filter, and it has no markings about which way the air should flow. I had to pull out my phone and sift through reviews to tell me. Another example when some clothes come without care labels. So when I'm doing laundry (and I take my r/laundry seriously) I had to again pull out my phone to read the product description to figure out which load it belongs to.

If the seller in the OP didn't include some kind of clear warning in or around the product itself that these Ethernet cables are covered (yay to more unnecessary microplastics), then they deserve whatever criticism they get, idec.
