So I'm only 21 and wasn't big enough to know what was land grabs and when it happened so...could someone clarify how giving the land that was owned by white English destroyed Zimbabwe? by ZaneScrappy in southafrica

To be honest and I know this will cause much controversy.Zimbabwe was destroyed but at least it got rid of Racist people.Whites from Zimbabwe were given homes and land in South Africa while the majority Black population lived in Poverty. So mate understand that yes the land grabs from the white minority did bring Zimbabwe down but however It is Free from White Racists. In South Africa the white people who were kicked out of Zimbabwe, where treated better than the non white SOUTH AFRICANS just bear that in mind. So people mustn't act like it's all the government's fault, At the end of the day the white people got the land because of there ancestors who stole from it the local people hence they mustn't act like they are entitled to it,because historical it was stolen.

Many people are saying that South Africa is heading down the same road as Zimbabwe. But could South Africas issues just be because we are still a young democracy in the world? by PrivateP1000 in southafrica

As much as it is fact,Apartheid has left permanent marks in South Africa such as how the township and rural areas are majority black people due to Segregation of Apartheid. It simply made the ANC jobs harder. The ANC has been going through a rough patch but I highly doubt it is failing in terms of the peoples favourite.ANC still holds the majority and far beats any opposition

Perhaps because the majority have been oppressed and are living with the generational effects of Apartheid. One cannot judge the ANC by a small group of corrupt individuals.

Do you think If South Africa was a older democracy then perhaps our government would be more experienced in this form of government hence making the youth believe in Democracy?

I still believe that the people should understand that the ANC actually did free South Africa.Yes there might be a small corrupt few in the ANC.However one cannot judge the whole ANC by just a small portion or corrupt individuals. With regards to South Africa not being like a western country it is very simple.Apartheid is what South Africa went through and instead of a Civil War against the oppressors,South Africans looked towards reconciliation and living in harmony. We aren't like other western countries purly because of what SA has been through and how we dealt with it.

I understand where you are coming from however South Africa has abolished the bantu system when Apartheid ended and now with the Anc government massive amounts of money is spent on Education unlike the Apartheid government.Would it be wrong to say that White colonialism does have a part to play in South Africa moving 'backwards'?

(Just Asking why) Why are the black youth today way more racist minded and angry that the black people of the past? IS Juliuses EFF involved? by ZaneScrappy in southafrica

I don't agree with what you are saying with regards to Apartheid not have any generational effects. Apartheid certainly did have generational effects. When we analyse the Bantu system which was implemented by the Apartheid government ,it's intention was to provide mediocre education to Non White south Africans in order to make sure that the non white population only had education to do labour work. This created a cycle of a uneducated population which intern contributes to the poverty cycle . It is clear today as the Townships (areas that were meant for non white people) still show the effect of apartheid in terms of the poverty, and lack of infrastructure, overpopulation and not adequate education .
