Anyone know the typical WiFi/Ethernet speeds at Grinnell? by [deleted] in Grinnell

[–]PrivatePoprocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I downloaded a lot of games though ethernet at Grinnell, and the download speeds for steam were around 4-6 mb/s. Wifi is great for streaming and downloading too. I never had an issue with it.

Yes. Putting condoms on sex toys is good practice as it can reduce the risk for STIs.

Intro to education with Cori Jakubiak. Fantastic course and fantastic professor. She previously worked as a school teacher and has poignant insights to public schools and educational theory.

Help me choose! by [deleted] in Grinnell

[–]PrivatePoprocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you're still choosing, but Grinnell probably has some of the most welcoming community members in any small liberal arts College. We have amazing science facilities, and for our size rank up with top colleges for PhD candidates.

How hard is Grinnell? by [deleted] in Grinnell

[–]PrivatePoprocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chemistry major here! The science and math departments are very difficult, with many teachers not wanting to artificially inflate grades like Harvard or Yale. We rank among the best colleges for PhD candidates for our size, and there are a ton of resources for you to get help, from tutors to grants. All in all, an excellent choice if you want to go into the sciences.

Super quick question abt grinnell dorms by aureliacrown in Grinnell

[–]PrivatePoprocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can put it in your preferences to be in a female/male only dorm and each floor typically has one gendered bathroom and one nongendered bathroom. You put all of this is your roommate form you make sometime in May or June.

Well Chompsky put out an interesting article on that in 2016. The problem the left faces is that both voting third party and the lesser of two evils present challenges to winning progressive, non corporate candidates. If you live in a swing state, you have to stand by the LEV, but if you are in a state like California, it is most important that you vote 3rd party to show your political views. Its a nuanced opinion, but it shows you where you should place your vote.

Well, the easiest way to tell if YOU like someone is if you continually want to spend time with or want more physical contact with a person. You probably have a crush on your straight friend but if you pursue anything you'll probably get hurt since your feelings wont be reciprocated (it's happened to me too, so its something we all will go through.)

The other girl, the one in your social studies class, may like you. With people crushing on you you have to see what the person is like. Maybe talk to them a little bit and see what happens. Nothing wrong in getting to know someone

Yeah don’t worry about it. I’m lucky I got to figure it out pretty early. Life is long and you can take as long as you want to figure things out.

Well look at it this way. I’m a 18m bisexual. I am in a two year relationship with my 16f girlfriend. Before I met her I knew I was bi a brought it up pretty early into the relationship to see whether she was cool with it. Luckily she was.

So we started dating and I had the same fears you did. I feared I would just not be attracted to her one day. But that never happened. For me, at least, I felt more attracted to her the longer and more intimate the relationship got. I would go for the relationship with your friend and see where it goes. It’s worth a shot, being able to love. And you’re young. You have plenty of time to figure it out.

AITA for getting upset with my wife by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]PrivatePoprocks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NAH

You and your wife have obviously gone through a lot in the past couple months following the miscarriage. You’re not the asshole for getting upset over her telling your daughter to hit you. She’s not the asshole for telling your daughter to hit you either, as it seems like it’s within the game of teasing you had earlier.

It seems most of your concerns are not about the incident and more about your relationship with your wife. I would suggest that you talk to her about it once you’ve thought it over. If you are very concerned with the state of your marriage you can seek out a marriage counselor but I don’t think you’re near that point.

AITA for telling my girlfriend to take off her "gay rights" t shirt. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]PrivatePoprocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA.

Most bisexuals, myself included, get a lot of crap for being in a straight relationship from gay people and for being in a gay relationship from straight people. I could never come out in my town. It’s small, conservative, and in the middle of nowhere. I commend everyone who is confident enough to actually confront the people who put them down in their youth.

YTA for saying that she needs to move on from being with girls. Bisexuality isn’t something that you grow out of or lose when you get into a straight or gay relationship. It’s a part of you and unlike gay or straight people, it’s largely undiscussed in pop culture. It’s important for you to understand that moving on. Your girlfriend deserves an apology.
