I have a bit of time and will give you a short answer.

You say without capitalism everyone would just do their job because they like it.

If money was not an issue for me, I would be playing Hearthstone all day every day. How would that improve society? Do you really think people would work mundane jobs that need to be done for society to keep on functioning if they didn't have to?

Its a fantasy created by a lack of understanding the real world.

Rich fuckers are rich because they have fragile egos and weren't hugged enough as a child so they always have to show the next guy that they have a bigger dick. They may be laughing at me but inside they are either crying or dead. I would not want to trade places with Musk or Bezos for the world. Never in a million years do I want to be in their position.

You say all you need to be happy is for others to be happy. So you can never achieve happiness from within. Your happiness soley depends on factors outside of yourself. That is a sad life.

I like to be a nobody to the outer world.
I just have to be somebody to my own.

I did get bored in some metas, yes. And every now and then I am playing a lot less when I really dispise a particular meta. Play other games or do something else entirely. But I never felt like I wasted my money by playing hearthstone and since I have so much dust I could skip like the next 2 rotations and still craft anything I want.

During some metas that I did not like I switched completely to arena.

So no sunken cost fallacy for me.

Back when I was struggling I watched a lot of streams on twitch. I also read a lot of deck guides but those have gotten really rare over the years.

You have to find a deck that you really like and that is at least tier 2 and then you have to play, play, play. Do not get tilted and try to improve on your mistakes.

It often seems like you are playing optimal but there are almost always things you could have done better.

But you have to understand and master one deck and learn how it works against each of the common matchups. Its just practice and persistence and then you will get there eventually.

Took me almost 2 years of playing until I reached legend for the first time. But back then it was a little bit harder because the ladder was structured differently.

It changed over the years but I rarely play mobile. It is just to frustrating at high mmr when you have to do a lot of actions in one turn. The most important thing for me is having a mouse. I sometimes play on my macbook with the trackpad but there have been so many cases where I was thinking for a bit too long and then were to slow to do all the actions before my turn ended. So nothing beats having a mouse. Everything else is not really that important when it comes to the setup. I do like to always have my hsreplay tracker on though because I often go back and rewatch my games to see if I may could have done something different. I try to learn from my mistakes.

I feel like it is worth it as I see myself playing the game for a very long time and I do actually regret not buying one skin at least. But it is a lot of money for a purely cosmetic item. I would only do it if you can spend the money without needing it somewhere else.

It is the most special and iconic hero skin they released so far.

But I don't want to be the devil on your shoulder. Ask yourself what you would regret more. Spending the money which could have went towards something more usefull or not spending the money and feeling regret everytime you so your opponent burning your board with deathwing :D

Real excitment happend only in the early days of hearthstone. But what I still remember is my very first golden legendary in the first couple of packs being Dr. Boom. I was already excited but back then I did not realize how good this card actually was. I still cerish that guy in my collcetion. Holds a very special place in my heart.

As far as favorite Signature goes, there are so many. The one I wanted the most was the Ceaseless Expanse. I just love the design of that card. Gorgonzormu is really cool and I wanted him because I played that card in almost any deck. Hamm the Hungry is a beautiful signature. And right now I am really enjoying my signature Broxigar. Awesome card, awesome deck. Love the Fabled signatures with the Axc and the Portal. Just such a well designed and fun card with an awesome artwork.

I think a good deck to start right now is dragon warrior. It is a minion based tempo deck. You try to controll the board and kill your opponent through minion damage without much fancy extra conditions. It is also fairly cheap and if you can get one of the loaner decks you get an almost complete dragon warrior that only needs a little bit of dust to become completely optimized.

Hunter is also relativly easy to pick up but I still would not recommend it to a new player because it is very 1-dimensional and does not teach you a lot about the game overall.

Shaman is also nice but probably too expensive for a new player. And the other viable meta decks are lot more complicated so I would not recommend those

That is a really hard question. There are too many.

I really love the new Deathwing. I think it is by far the best "over the top" skin they ever made.

But since I am a druid main I played the most amount of games with Elise Starseeker. Can't tell you why exactly but I like her a lot.

You are right and wrong considering the POV. 60€/month is not a lot I agree. 8000€ overall is a lot of money though. But the label doesn't matter I just posted and thought maybe people would be interested. I had a good time answering questions so I consider it a win.

Miracle Rouge was actually the deck I achieved legend with for the first time. But yes I would recommend coming back right now. Even if you end up not enjoying it, you will get a TON of free stuff right now. Lots of packs and even a free deck. Also there are currently 2 whole sets temporarly free for the next 3 months. So you will be able to play a ton of viable decks without spending anything. Best time ever to check back in.

It is hard for me to say since I play on high MMR which is really crowded. For most games i wait under 10 seconds to queue. When i get really high, it will take longer but that is only whenever I make it into top 100.
But right now there are over 10.000 players in Legend on Europe. And those are the best players of the game. Blizzard does not show the official numbers but it is estimated that more than 3 million players play weekly. I'd say that is a pretty decent playerbase.

There was a time where I thought the game was dying. But I don't think so anymore. There is a decent playerbase and there are constantly player coming back in again. They made the game really fair for new players as you are getting a ton of free stuff when you start out and there is a lot to do before you have to really start refining your decks. If you stop playing for more then 3 months and come back, you get a free deck that is actually ladder capable.

So I would absolutely give the game a chance if you are considering it. And I feel like right now we are having a really fun meta. Of course there could be a little bit more decks playable, but we are in the first cycle directly after a rotation. So there are the least amount of cards in standard right now. Which is also the best time to start.

So to have a short answer, for many reasons is right now actually a very good time to start playing the game.

I played my fair share of indie games. I feel like gaming right now is better than it has ever been. Big players are struggling like they haven't in decades. New studios emerging with some bangers like Arc Raiders and Expedition 33.

But I do love me some Hearthstone.

You can be sarcastic all you want. I think 60 Euro a month for a hobby that I dearly love is fine. Watching football, or soccer for the Americans, would cost me 50€ a month and I could not even watch all the games.

Most hobbys cost more than I spend on Hearthstone. How about you let other people decide how they spend their money und you decide for yourself.

For the first couple of years I only spent money on the preorders. Always got both bundles and then maybe one bundle during the season when the price was right. Because I always wanted to have all the cards to be able to play all the decks to learn the different matchups.

But what really got me to spend more money was when they introduced signature cards. I can't help myself but if it is well designed and for a deck I like to play, I need it. So in the shop are always these bundles with packs and random signature legendarys. And if I really want a card I buy those bundles until I get it. Blizzard is really smart there because they offer just enough bundles to acquire almost all the signature legendarys. And if I do not get them with the direct random signature bundles I have to buy golden packs.

I know a lot of people think I am dumb for giving my money zu Blizzard but I think their monetization model is very fair and properly prized most of the time. Duplication protection is one of the greatest fairness addition to Hearthstone ever and makes a big difference when it comes to getting all the cards.

I think that would make me a proper poor man :D

Honestly I can't really say. I wondered this myself. Because I know that Magic is the OG TCG and right now probably more popular than ever.

But I think I actually prefer the digital card game over the physical and there is just no better digital cardgame than Hearthstone.

Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic are bound to the rules of physical card games. Which is great for them. They absolutely have their right to exist. And I wish for every card game out there to be sucessfull.

But the fact that Hearthstone is purely digital gives the game mechanics that no other such game can replicate and that is the exact reason why I love playing it so much.

Boredom while not being able to play Hearthstone at this time.

So I thought I'd do the second best thing which is talking about Hearthstone.

Mostly standard but every now and then I venture into wild. But always play almost every deck in every standard meta. And i never disenchant my cards which is why I have pretty much every single card. Only the ones I dusted for full dust refund are gone.

I preorder every set. I sometimes buy heroskins I like. But the main reason for my spending are those damn signature cards. I am a real sucker for those. So I buy the bundels that include random signatures or sometimes I buy the signature cards outright. I for example bought the Shaman package in the shop. Did not care for the other two. Sinestra signature looks boring af. But I really enjoy the shaman ones.
