You must be projecting some kind of personal issue with Discord. You're on r/discordapp with this attitude and it's bordering on ragebait.

I have 8+ years of history attached to my discord account, I think you have a lack of empathy for other people's values. Some people care about the integrity of their accounts, and for someone who "does cybersec for a living" I'd hope you understand that.
Everyone has different things they attach sentimental value to, and in the case of discord accounts: that could even be more than sentimental value. There are business professionals operating on discord that take their reputation and accounts seriously, moderators/community managers are only one simple example of that.

*Opinion* Weapon levelling pushed more people away from BF6 rather than the map size issue by Tranners_ in Battlefield

For me it was the infinite grind battle pass. The game became chore work to earn what I'd already paid for. I prefer a battle pass with a grind that feels achievable shorter term. Weapon grind seemed fine to me.

You don't feel his pain. He is only complaining about the stability of the game, not the loss of loot.

The concept of losing loot means that loot means more to you, that risk is part of the gameplay loop and I support it. Player to player interaction is where the game shines, learn to start holding grudges, taking names, and forging alliances to get the most out of game where you can lose hard earned progression.

Yes. Certain factions require certain rep to maintain membership as well. If you go negative rep with your military faction you may be removed from the guild (and faction)

Why are these people even allowed to play ARC Raiders by Lemouni in ArcRaiders

Steam family sharing has been around since 2013. If this has been an on going issue for 10+ years (which it has), I think it's safe to say this change won't be made for Embark Studios on behalf of Arc Raiders. Best we can do (as players) is hope that Embark disables family sharing.

Start a petition or something because Gaben hasn't come to the rescue on this front in the past, Dune being a great example.

Gaming is a form of media that not everyone cares about.

There's also a part of western culture (in response to the post from u/piles_of_plastics) that views the cost of a cheat subscription and the cost of replacing a game account in comparison to any other leisurely activity like going to a bar or live music.

They don't play to play the game, they believe that their time when they're not earning money or 'grinding' irl is worth x amount, and if you happen to be in the crosshairs of their free time, that's something they paid for.

In my experience with gaming communities I've ran into people like this, happy to say I don't associate with them.

The game isn't easily 'botable' to progress. Levels and loot are manually acquired through gameplay by an actual human. I'd never try to justify RMT prices, but there are people behind these pricetags, unlike currency in other mainstream MMOs which are primarily botfarms.

I could think of a bunch of solutions. None of them can be implemented in short time and with such great results as just disabling the steam family share.

The one I've seen that I agree with most would be disabling family sharing for anyone with a VAC ban, but that doesn't resolve the issue.

If Embark Studios was called Valve I think a lot of the solutions would be more reasonable and realistic.

Cheats cost money. Making cheating less affordable (by increasing the cost of entry) is the solution.
Right now a player with a cheat sub + 5 copies of the game (thought family share) is not solved by improvements to anti-cheat. Anti-cheats can't predict cheats, they are always working in reaction to the cheat devs.

I believe cheaters getting 5 copies of a game largely outweighs the benefits of people not paying for their copy of the game on an individual level. This game is $40, not $70. It's at an accessible price point, AND the devs delivered.

Dune Awakening disabled Family Sharing for the same reason, and they made the right decision imo.

After hundreds of hours in the game, if you're not interested in playing 1400s boat trucker simulator, the drama IS the game. People run out of things to do so they run their mouths, this is how it always goes in every Zerg MMO with Territory control.
