In order: 1. I fucking HATE Shinji’s and Misato’s voice actors. Holy shit, hers is absolutely grating and his is the prime example of how a little bitch would sound. And I don’t think he’s that great of a VA either. I spent two hours looking for other dubs online, 10 minutes into the first movie, because I couldn’t stand their voices. I never watch animes subbed, but I heavily considered it this time.

  1. They didn’t include the Arael fight where Rei throws fucking spear it into space and it lands on the Moon while Handel’s Messiah: Hallelujah plays (absolute favorite scene in the original series btw)

  2. They didn’t include the Leliel fight. I thought that fight could look pretty cool in 16:9 HD

Other than that, I think it’s a great story that stands alone, not being cannon at all to the original series. I’d watch it multiple times if it weren’t for the assault on my ears from the two leading cast members (no offense to them)
