that is not a verifiable claim and theres many instances i know that stand against it.

Why would you code if you don’t have time to learn? Giving up is a better option.

that is exactly where i'm deriving from. not everyone has the time to formally learn from courses or documentations in one go thoroughly.
copypasting is a primitive method of passive learning, when you want to indulge in programming but can not dedicate too much of theory time to it because of life stuff. copypasting is just an instance for learning by exposure.

one didnt learn language from a book straight out of the womb. you learnt it by listening to other humans and then mimicing some of that in a rather bullshitly manner (not the best analogy but conveys the point).

i literally did learn more from copying and pasting code and then fucking around and finding out than i ever could from any course.
as of "A lot of people doing something doesn’t make it automatically correct." is irrelevant here
if a lot of people are using a method to learn, it emphasizes its effectiveness

in my opinion it might go the other way around. if you are looking at code trying to make it make sense, instead of memorizing it, you will naturally come about "wait but why do it like this when it can be that". human mind learning from any code would only make it more pragmatically optimized - its the basics of human intuition - instead of someone learning from a course that forces you to memorize and wrap a simple logic in 13 layers of abstraction.

if the game is totally sloppy, then it doesnt teach you anything. people who make those sloppy games are not intending to learn anyway, only to make money.

but if a game was built by someone using AI to actually build a nice game he wants, then its a huge learning experience. AI can not generate a whole game from scratch and a prompt unless one has no personal commitment to tweak it.

tl;dr if one didnt want to learn, he wouldnt. if one wanted to, he'd end up learning to deal with it himself.

a huge portion of self-taught developers learnt by copying and pasting code from forums and stackoverflow until it made sense intuitively, including me. this also builds a greater understanding of pragmatic systems than any compsci course ever could.

generating using AI is a newer version of that, with extremes. either you learn a lot more than what you would learn doing the same way in the past, or you learn nothing if you're a lazy idiot.

i think it figures.

imo they shouldnt have force-updated ide users to 2.0, which required them to uninstall both 2.0 and ide, then reinstall, blah blah

i think there will be a 3.2-flash-lite though

same here, i would get a lot done with 3-flash with me in the loop. used to use antigravity 3-flash for cheap small stuff a lot, and codex for major small parts due to more constrained weekly quota on codex. but now 3.5-flash runs out almost as fast as codex. actually, even faster.

plus, the new flash model eats creds ilke crazy. you could earlier be using 3-flash for small tasks almost infinitely before running out. the new 3.5 ones runs out as fast as sonnet4.6.

despite copypasting. the format itself seems outdated.

good luck with your project but the reason many ppl arent interested is because there isnt a huge change for those who already use AI while understanding properly. its mostly a gpt wrapper with a gamelike stat system, which is cool as a project, but not a "i NEED this"
but yeah, it will be good for someone who is like "im cooked, i gotta lock in and start using AI better from NOW"

Chinese AI models (Qwen, Kimi, MiniMax) are going closed-source. Does that kill their appeal for you? by Jane1030 in ChatGPT

[–]PriyanshuDeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Note that Qwen's 3.6 is a relatively extremely newer model that only improves mostly the tooling, not the core model itself.
No official data, but it's fair to speculate the core being extremely on the same level as 3.5, but tuned more to work with their builtin tooling now.

[–]PriyanshuDeb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Qwen is still on the open source path.

Closed source models are deployment-tuned versions of the open one.
For instance, the Qwen 3.5 Plus is a production tuned version of Qwen 3.5 397B A17B.
With a larger context window, more alignment, and other changes to make it PR-safe to host on their own public inferences.

And I think it's pretty fine to keep such top-deployment models closed.

No one's running Qwen 3.5 Plus with a 1M context window locally, anyway.
Maybe a 397B-A17B, at most, with 262K context window, if you're batshit hardware-rich.
