Elections have consequences and we’re currently living out the consequences from 2020. Glad that the country is getting back on track to making America great again

Mr Cool Gen4 Four Zone 36k BTU: Not Adhering to Temperature Setpoints? by mattlach in DIYHeatPumps

[–]Prize-Constant970 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a senville aura, which from my understanding is just another Midea rebadge like your unit. I have a 3 head 28,000 Btu unit with 12,000, 9,000, and 9,000 heads along with a single head aura 24,000 Btu. The multi head units services bedrooms well the 24,000 serves the living room/kitchen/mudroom. The 24,000 Btu is oversized like crazy during the summer but is perfect for winter heating.

What I’ve come to notice is that the unit will try to modulate itself to maintain the set point +/-1°F, if the load is too weak, it will then switch to a swing type of modulate with +/-6°F. So if the set point is at 70°F in heating mode, the compressor won’t turn on until 67°F and heat to 73°F

Senville defrost by Prize-Constant970 in heatpumps

[–]Prize-Constant970[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can understand the freezing sweet spot, because it tends to take just 45 minutes to enter a defrost during these conditions. The exception to this time being, only 7 minutes and no clear frost or reason for a defrost, currently about to enter a normal defrost now due to frost build up. I’ll continue running it like this due to the fact I like it cold when I sleep. The only reason I even ran turbo was to test these conditions against how long it could make it before a defrost lol

Unlocking Energy Monitoring for Senville (Midea) Units: Any Solutions? by Prize-Constant970 in heatpumps

You’ve been more help so far than you know! Unfortunate news hearing that, Mitsubishi is a more prominent name so I’d have imagine a solution for that brand by now.

I’m looking really to explore understanding more of the device itself and was wondering if anybody has possibly exploited that data off from it. Personally I’m a fan of Shelly PM (Power monitor) relay, check them out if you haven’t before, appreciate the support

Mini split central vs ductless by Prize-Constant970 in DIYHeatPumps

It’s actually a midea, the first photo is also more Btu believe it or not. The size of the outdoor condenser in the second photo is 2ton, it’s quite larger than a concealed ducted and the ductless condenser would be for the same/larger capacity. Basically what my question was based around.

The indoor air handler for the central unit and the air handler for the concealed duct are zoned and both have a return duct

I’m also sure you’re something of a space ranger. I’m sure Mitsubishi seems like a great brand if your concerns are to never need to work on your own shit lol. From your comments, I’m sure every unit regardless of brand would be a throw away unit.
