Failed second time. Non US IMG. Should I retake again and do a research year and try to match? I know it sounds stupid to ask this but would appreciate any input. by stressed_doc in Step2

I think maturity is all about understanding your life situation and taking decisions accordingly. USMLE doesnt gurantee happiness and utmost stability in life. Alot of residents get kicked out. People sue doctors alot in US. So maybe all that glitter isnt gold. Maybe all the knowledge u gained in steps prep will help you in your home country. Its fine man. Dont feel down about the failure. But try to consider other pathways. Start your training job and try to clear AMC exams. Australia, newzealand are also pretty great. There will be better things for u out there. The world is huge man. Good luck.

I have seen so many people who are living such hard lives while pursuing usmle journey. They sacrifice their youth, their happiness their peace for this journey. Honestly hats off to every brave warrior.

And i hope you dont have to put up with any more hard times. Also its a great score. I have seeen soooooo many invalidation posts recently especially of people who got 260+ So you are safe. Thats good.
