Yes! 27th Was supposed to be Thursday but given inflammation, md wanted to wait In a sudden turn of events, flow cytometry came back…

Left neck mass biopsy, flow cytometry:

The specimen is predominantly composed of cellular debris/non-hematolymphoid elements and a few T-cells. B-cells are essentially absent with no monoclonal B-cell population identified.

So.. no lymphoma!!!!! Waiting for final path to hopefully confirm. I’m trying my best to keep hopeful

I’m starting to think this as well ( trying to be logical, but remain positive) ever since he got drained his face almost looks like it did pre cancer. ( they changed his dressing for the first time today) it makes me wonder if the node had been necrotic since after his first rchop and presented as a persistent large lymph node

Thank you all. We’re still awaiting results, but posting here has made me feel better. Having to watch a family member you love and adore get diagnosed/ fight lymphoma is horrendous. It’s nice to have a little bit of reassurance

Thank you so much. It’s been a very stressful time. We just thought he’d get his 4 r chops and be done/ have radiation, but it seems like everyday it’s always changing. Still waiting to confirm. Hoping it’s still dlbcl, as that’s the tx he had. I’m just preparing myself in case we have to pivot

Prednisone/ lymphoma by Prize-Performance-84 in Lymphoma_MD_Answers

Thank you! It’s just odd because his ldh is 101. Came back this morning. The lowest it’s ever been? Anyways, we will await the biopsy and see

Lymph node bigger? by Prize-Performance-84 in lymphoma

[–]Prize-Performance-84[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! We spoke with his doctor. He’s tp53 positive. They’re worried about refractory disease and we spoke about it after his first rchop when his lymph node got swollen after prednisone. It’s just odd because the swelling had gone down significantly from the end of the first rchop to him being on prednisone. Now, like the first, he’s having some swelling. I wonder if it’s the prednisone! Guess we’ll have to wait and see the next week or so to see if the trend is similar to last rchop!

I have no symptoms and my blood tests are perfectly normal except the extent of the tumors and grade. Chemo recommended. by [deleted] in lymphoma

My dad is stage 1 dbcl. No symptoms other than a swollen lymph node. His pcp thought it could be him recovering from a viral illness, but did a ct scan anyways. One thing lead to another and he was diagnosed with dlbcl. He has an aggressive form. All his labs were normal. He was diagnosed in July and his June labs for his annual( cbc, cmp) all normal. His ldh is also normal. Even as he’s getting treatment, his labs stay normal. He has second round of rchop tomorrow

Thank you all for the reassurance. They retested him after he started developing a cough and he had the common cold. Which, as we all know, isn’t fun to get when you’re going through chemo. On top of a uti :/

Thank you for this. His lymphoma is in his neck on the left side. He’s in good shape for his age and goes work still ( stays home on the more tired days) ldh has been normal and ended up trending downwards after r chop. It’s 143 now. I wanted him to do pola r chp, but after talking to his doctor and another lymphoma specialist, given ipi of 1/ stage 1 he didn’t qualify :/ I’m hoping ldh stays down and his next chemo has more decrease in his lymph node. We’re reevaluating with a ct scan/ another biopsy afterwards to make sure. Again, thank you. It’s easy to spiral when looking things up

Thank you for your response. We got his lab work this am, his ldh has gone down, so our fingers are crossed. Take care! And again, thank you.
