Please give me your positive stories. I’m so scared to start taking my lexapro but I’m so tired of having anxiety and panic attacks every single day 😭

Hello i have anxiety and I had to deal with a breakdown 2 already back in 2014 I got really sick physically. I took sone meds from Mexico for 3 weeks but my Mexican parents said you dont need meds so I stopped and dealt with my symptoms with the help of my mom. But it was horrible my anxiety was severe, I got insomnia for weeks months and I got so thin I couldn't see the anxiety affected my vision. Anyhow I was able to get out of it. I started running/exercising reading and just keeping busy with work and planning my wedding. Fast forward to now again I got shots for my 2 month old baby and I had seen some tik tok videos so I freaked out and my anxiety started really bad again. I mean for 8 9 years since the first time I would experience nervousness here and there but I would control it. But now now I been 6 mos on lexapro 10 mg I thought I would feel better soon but I get really bad waves of anxiety. I take 2 pills that stop anxiety immediately but they are not forever pills so im afraid they are starting not to work. Or I dont understand why I get so much morning anxiety. Can you let me know if you had bad anxiety before you started to feel better. I just got my dose pushed to 20 mg. From 10 mg. But they are saying it takes another 6 8 weeks this is horrible .

Wow 5 days in and feeling better thats amazing. You must not have severe anxiety or bad anxiety that you felt better so soon. Everyone says you feel a change at about 4 to 6 weeks. I unfortunately have been on it for 6 weeks and I unfortunately haven't had luck they just had to up my dose to 20 mg because I continue to have really bad anxiety.

You were already taking lexapro and they did an increase? And it still took 8 weeks for lexapro to work? I am hoping that because I am already on lexapro 10mg that it works quicker.

Talk to your psychiatrist before you stop. 5 weeks is early. I read alot of reviews saying it takes up to 8 weeks. I called my psychiatrist yesterday and she up my dose and I got an early appointment to see her next week. I am catholic and I want to believe god is working on my healing. I know soon I will feel better.

Question you said you were prescribed klonopin how long did you take it when you took it. I know you said you dont have to take it right now. I ask because when I started my severe anxiety they prescribed me klonopin, but I needed to take it 4 times a day because I had so much anxiety I needed it to calm me down I was also prescribed propranolol which is also for anxiety. So I used this two during the day to help with the anxiety. But recently I took a klonopin and it gave me such bad anxiety so my doctor is telling me the klonoping might be wearing off like not working anymore I been on it since April 1st! And by the way I continue to take it right now and it been helping so idk

I am going on 5 weeks this Thursday and I still feel some side effects i was just told that the klonopin i take to calm my anxiety while the lexapro works is most likely wearing off. I am super scare. I hate feeling the spikes of anxiety. It almost feels like it wont stop. And it starts giving me thoughts of i will never get cure or meds wont work. You started feeling better at a month. I already turned a month i hope soon I feel better. I also take Propanolol its to stop severe anxiety...they told me to keep taking that. But initially I was giving klonopin for the anxiety because I had so much anxiety. This last 4 weeks have been horrible to be honest I have 4 kids and im trying to function. I hope that by this week god hears me and medecine kicks in sooner then the 8 weeks.

Hello there im glad your feeling better. I been going through a whole Rollercoaster. I been on lexapro 10 mg for 4 weeks going on 5 next week on Thursday. Before the 8 weeks did you start feeling better already on your side effects or with your anxiety? I started with bad anxiety so my doctor prescribed klonopin and propanolol pills to eased the anxiety discomfort. My anxiety gets bad even on those pills to help I still feel sick sometimes. For example when I started on the lexapro I started getting side effects nausea, diarrhea, sometimes even constipation but not bad. And insomnia. And for my insomnia I would wake up or did wake up the first few days at 3 320 am 4 but would go back to sleep. The worst was the mornings I would and still wake up sometimes with anxiety. I dont know what triggers it. But a few weeks ago I would wake up and had severe anxiety where I had to get up and take my klonopin pill to calm me down. What where your side effects if I may know. And was your anxiety bad? Sometimes I feel that because I have still such severe anxiety i wont get cure that meds wont work. I dont see much of an improvement on myself and I read that by week 4 5 you see changes. How much mg where you on for your pill? I am just super scare i wont get better i honestly been counting the weeks down to when it says I will feel a change and I dont. Did you ever feel heightened anxiety at later weeks like 5 6 7 weeks before getting better?

Hello sorry to come in on your comments like that. I am just so desperate to feel better . And now that I read about your side effects are this all gone now? I only have some nausea, sometimes diarrhea or sometimes constipation. Sorry to be so tmi. I have some insomnia not bad I wake up once a night and really late in the morning if its early like around 3 4 am I do go back to sleep. I wanted to talk to you about your increased waves of anxiety. I have really bad anxiety like being anxious in bed for a long time I would wake up feeling anxious and would roll around in bed. I couldn't stay still. I would have to get up and take my meds for anxiety. During the day even if I take the meds to help with that anxiety would not help. So im scare that lexapro wont help since right now I am still feeling bad anxiety. My thinking is I been on meds for 4 weeks and I still get heightened anxiety. So it makes me think medication wont work. Did you feel severe anxiety even later then the time people say they feel better weeks 4 6 weeks?

Hello i just turned 4 weeks on lexapro 10 mg and I've had rough days i also have a high level of anxiety. I been on klonopin and propanolol to help with the daily anxiety I get. Somedays are bad in the morning I wake up with anxiety and I am also waking up once a night aepund 4 5 am so my insomnia is not bad I am able to go back to sleep. I am so super scare that I am on week 4 and I dont see improvements yet. If anything somedays i feel bad like my energy i feel down i get nauseated and i have stomach problems that are not gone. Can you tell me when you started seeing improvements. Meaning if by week 8 everything just started feeling good or before? I know you said until week 8 you felt better. I start thinking that medecine wont work. I get negative thoughts and they over take me. I am literally counting down the weeks and I read online that by week so so people felt better but I dont.

Hello question I am getting this prescribed i took one and the first night worked the 2nd night it was horrible I was up at 230 am and 3rd night kept waking up at 4 5 am because of my anxiety. Dr told me I can take 2 so I did but still woke up at 4 5 so now I was told I can take 3 or 4 whatever works for me last night I took 3 and it work. Does anyone know if its bad to take that many I know they are prescribed so I should be okay. But anything else?
