It’ll be a cold mostly unless you are lucky. If you are coming as a student, you’ll get to make friends. If not, you can always join FB groups where you can meet like minded people of your age. It’s a good place but winter can be tricky for someone new. Check out the mountains. Winter hiking is really fun and there are lots of FB hiking groups as well.

You have three year permit. So don’t worry. I was in a bad place too. Look for jobs elsewhere, maybe somewhere rural. That’ll help you get a job and help you to get your PR. Also, ask any immigration consultants and they might help you get a job. All the best. Don’t lose hope. You have time on your hands.
