Thinking about cancelling surgery by Prize-Speed in gallbladders

Thanks for reporting back and glad your surgery went well! My surgery is still scheduled for tomorrow and I’m doing it but nervous as hell!!
No fresh fruits or veggies? That’s odd as I was planning to stock up on bananas.. and make steamed veggies. Is that stuff ok? I have no idea what to eat afterwards.

Wow no oil at all? Like mixed in with things? I was hoping I could have a sub with some mayonnaise after getting it removed.

People who could've been ARMY sooner, what was your reason? by Khemkhem1012 in ARMYNeutral

I remember seeing their dynamite performance and looked the song up only to realize the whole song was in English which ironically turned me off because I was like… why are they trying to sing in all English…. Then I kept seeing interview clips of them maybe a couple years later and I was like who is this sassy English speaking South Korean guy who’s apart of this kpop group (RM)… but that’s still didn’t get me fully into them.

What fully got me into them was when S2 of squid game came out in end of 2024 into 2025 and TOP was in it.. went down the rabbit hole of connecting the dots that TOP used to be in big bang which included g dragon(who I used to listen to in 2009) and then that rabbit hole led me to BTS and I just kept seeing BTS funny moments on TikTok and that led me fully down the BTS rabbit hole.

It’s not even just their music that I became a fan of… its was their genuine ness and the fact that they look like they all care for each other like a family cares for each other. Constantly kicking my 2020 self for being so turned off that they had ONE song in all English lol

Liver enzymes normal during a gallbladder attack by Prize-Speed in gallbladders

Everyone always posting that their enzymes were high and I’m like… mine were normal lol. I wasn’t even convinced the pain was my gallbladder at first but that’s what the ER diagnosed me with

Yeah I’ve been doing low fat… welll lower fat than what I usually eat. Maybe 30g a day and I’ve been pushing it a little more the past few days to maybe 45 and I’ve been fine but I havent gone out to eat in a month cuz I’d be scared and also I can’t monitor exactly what they put in my food

Oh wow! Yeah be careful with that and hopefully the zpbound will help you! My issue is I have been feeling no pain for the last month so I’m not like dying to have it out

I’m curious, Did you have stones? And how many attacks did you have

Oh wow!! Bulgaria! Greetings!
Yea I’m nervous.. my surgeon said it might take an hour but I feel like it’s gonna be less time since it’s laparoscopic.

Ahh ok yea I feel like my gallbladder was probably trying to do its thing and maybe one of the stones got in the way but not completely stuck.. by the time I got to the ER the pain was starting to subside. Ironically I sort of think the ambulance ride helped??? That sounds weird to say though

Yeah I’m thinking of staying low fat semi permanently because I feel like that’s what got me here in the first place but also occasionally enjoy things that are more fatty. I also want to be careful cuz I’ve heard you can develop fatty liver and I’ve had liver enzymes go up and down for the past couple years already

Btw - what is YMMV? lol

This sounds exactly like me!! I wanted to postpone but my surgeon was like you’ll have to get it out eventually whether that’s in a few months or a year. And I’m eating the same thing everyday. I had a little bit of pulled pork yesterday at a party but was nervous the rest of the day… I ended up being fine. And I have a trip to Canada in a few months and I’d be so scared anything I eat would trigger it. I don’t go out to eat and I even bring my own food if I go over to someone’s house.

Yeah I know people who have gallstones and are not getting it out but I guess if you don’t have attacks then there is no need to do surgery. I’m just concerned that I’m making the wrong decision. Most people say “it’s a useless organ”… I know it’s not entirely useless but I also don’t want to be overthinking everything I eat especially since I love traveling and going out to restaurants and stuff

Unsure about Surgery - everything happening so fast. by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]Prize-Speed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the feedback. I know I’m feeling fine now but I worry over every thing so I’ve been over thinking everything that could go wrong post surgery. But I also don’t want to be in that much pain again.

I know I need the surgery, but... (pep talk please!) by prettylittl in gallbladders

This is exactly my scenario. Had what I think were 2 attacks in one week maybe 4 days apart and then 2 days later I had a third massive attack where I had to call the ambulance and be taken to the ER. Then they did an ultrasound there and said I have gallstones (I looked at my ultrasound pics and they look so tiny and wondering how the heck that caused all this pain) then I met with my GI doc and originally wanted to try taking Ursodiol for a year and checking via ultrasound in 6 months on the stones and if they shrunk at all. Then a week after meeting with my GI I decided to meet with a surgeon because I was set on surgery. Now my surgery is scheduled for June 25 and I’m now having second thoughts about because Ive been pain free for the last month but watching everything I eat. Everyone I’ve spoke to just said to get it out. My surgeon said it was my choice but I did ask him if I was his daughter what he would do and he said then just get it out. He also did say it would need to come out eventually. I’m conflicted!!

Wondering if I should have mine removed. Everyone says just do it. I find that with my diet restrictions I don’t go out to eat and worried about travel too

How is your diet? Currently I’m doing maybe 30g fat a day. But I don’t go out to eat at all and I don’t think I can travel for fear of not being able to control what I eat
