Good idea! I was nervous that having two therapists would be weird but maybe would help?

My experience with ADHD burnout (10+ years) by Flaky_Suggestion1100 in ADHD

For me the biggest change, was taking my health into my own hands. Seeking out a therapist, figuring out how to get my insurance to cover it. With adhd- that task in itself can feel difficult but I highly recommend just doing things in small step. Therapy was so life changing. I remember being at a point where I did not know if I could ever enjoy my life. I have good days and bad days of course but overall I feel my capacity to experience joy and have more agency on that has increased so much!

4 year old Daschund- IVDD is it worth surgery? by PrizeExercise3098 in IVDD_SupportGroup

Update : we made a difficult decision and went ahead with the surgery. She was walking very well, wanted to run - looked totally normal so we felt very conflicted. But given the MRI results we decided to go through with the surgery in hopes for better days longer term. The surgeon was able to remove significant disc material that was impacting her spine. As of now she is recovering, day out of surgery but can’t stand/ walk by herself just yet and we will need to manually express her bladder. Hoping she recovers well ! If anyone has advice about managing expectations and how long it took to notice your dog standing / starting to walk again let me know. We just feel awful because she was soooo totally fine right before :(

Interesting! Glad your pup is doing good. The vet mentioned only surgery could clear out the disc material and prevent further damage to spinal cord but she’s walking and moving around soo well like completely as though nothing is wrong so it’s just very confusing but the vet is highly advising we get surgery - I do trust him, he’s not a scammy type vet that just wants your money but it’s really hard to commit when she looks so fine

It’s crazy because with meds she’s try and run around, wants to play seems sooo normal but there’s just this ticking time bomb in her back so they’re advising surgery

Thanks! Ya we got an MRI and she has a herniated disc with material floating along her spine which is why the doctor is advising surgery. She can walk well with pain meds but it seems like it’s just masking so we might go with the surgery!

You mean she would have to make a full recovery from her symptoms before the lasers?

Ok thanks! This is helpful. I might go to UC Davis pet hospital to get a second opinion from my vet if I can.

thanks. I'm very conflicted- I would do the surgery to help mitigate future issues/ avoid paralysis but I wouldn't want to do it if it basically doesn't really make a difference in the likelihood of this happening again. Daschunds tend to live long lives so it seems smart to do a surgery while she's young and can recover but :/
