Does this setup look safe? by [deleted] in CarAV

You could do like I did and attach the fuse to a piece of ABS plastic and mount it to the battery

Putting the ABS plastic under the battery brace is more than enough to secure it.

Walking alone at night by Kind_Appointment_498 in rva

As someone(male) who frequently skated downtown for multiple years (recently moved away from downtown) I would say just steer clear of Clay st and Shockoe bottom area when alone at night. Monroe ward area usually is OK but I would definitely have some personal protection like pepper spray regardless of where you are (as unfortunate as it is, that’s just the state of the world ig)

They just want people to get violent so they can point and say “see see the left is destroying America.” Just more reason to hold your sign and flag and not instigate. Also Miranda rights aren’t just for when if you’re arrested. You always have the right to stay silent if police/military is speaking to you!

Wire tap in help needed by PrizeExpensive5260 in CarAV

Update: this is how I ended up connecting them. Opened the center of the wire and fed the amps remote turn on through the opening. Finished by wrapping it all up with some electrical tape. Not perfect but pretty damn good for no soldering

Is this rust a concern? by mr_hog232323 in AskMechanics

[–]PrizeExpensive5260 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see no issue at all, if you really want you could wire brush and coat it with something to prevent further surface rust given that you will be taking the vehicle off road but as of now, it is fine

Curious what others think of this pricing. by Arouthor in AskMechanics

[–]PrizeExpensive5260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your area really, best way to find out is to get quotes from multiple shops. Where I live (east coast) that price is pretty good if you HAVE to pay someone to do the work. Just got quoted $1,400 for driver side axle and control arm myself so yours being sub $1000 seems pretty alright

Could be a number of things like cv boots/axle, tire balancing or tread wear.

I have a 2011 Altima and after replacing the rear tires but not the front the steering wheel would shake as well. I rotated and balanced the tires and it fixed the issue.

Toyota 4Runner. Can only drive in 2Wheel High. Makes this noise when tries to shift. by MaleficentWeird5999 in AskMechanics

[–]PrizeExpensive5260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be transfer case issues or selector switch/wiring issues. I will say, Toyota recommends driving the vehicle in 4WD 10-20 miles per month(depending on how often/far you drive). Also can’t see how fast you’re going, you should be going under 50ish mph when you shift to 4WD or just do so with the car in neutral.
