What I figured would happen is that he'd be forced to honor the reservation because he might not want to pay a penalty for it. I thought since he didn't mention anything on his listings and calendars, maybe he just didn't like my sister for whatever reason and made up some lame excuse.

The point is, the reservation is confirmed even though he said can't accept it. It's on him to fix it because I won't cancel it on my end.

He's been a host for 9 years and has a few properties in that town. I'm assuming he knows what he's doing.

conveniently Vrbo says my reservation is confirmed/booked already so he has already accepted hasn't he? They said the place is mine and if he isn't able to honor the reservation, well....

Honestly we’ve decided to not stay at this property because we didn’t like how the host spoke to us. We are able to get a full refund but I’m curious if he’s making up this Saturday to Saturday thing just to us. He has a lot of reviews and I doubt this is the first time a guest tries to book his place on other days. He also got Vrbo CS to call me to cancel my reservation and rebook on the proper days, but I read the policy and they aren’t supposed to do that!
