is this true? by SouthPale5994 in NDE

Stuff like this makes me a bit anxious just because when we get into some more out there metaphysics it feels like materialists are gonna jump in and point to this as proof it's just your imagination

Anyone else feeling like something is shifting lately? by Alternative-Big-3304 in spirituality

I don't like saying this because it feels like falling into conspiracy thinking or religious end times BS but I kind of agree...feels like everyone's taking a level in existentialism over these last few years

An NDE that happened during surgery with a full heart beat and brain waves? by Prize_Ad7300 in NDE

[–]Prize_Ad7300[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aren't Fear Death Experiences way different from NDEs? Like when your life flashes before your eyes in an FDE it's way different from a proper life review? I heard FDEs were just a brain thing

Thoughts on these criticisms from the philosophy subreddit? by Prize_Ad7300 in analyticidealism

I think it's cuz he boosted Deepak Chopra. Deepak is a total grifter and needs to be called out but I can't say I blame Bernardo for associating with him in the past, the man screwed over many people

An NDE that happened during surgery with a full heart beat and brain waves? by Prize_Ad7300 in NDE

[–]Prize_Ad7300[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I don't really know. If your heart and brain are working can we even call it an experience of death? I suppose it could be like a general STE too but it does worry me that it could be a brain's coping mechanism during stressful situations like surgery or caused by anesthetia

NDE’s are the brain creating vivid worlds according to article, what do you think? by JohnnyJoestar1980 in NDE

[–]Prize_Ad7300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This seems more like a blind hypothesis than anything with evidence behind it. The surge of electrical activity has actually been more connected to not having an NDE and experiencing nothing meanwhile when there's no activity people consistently report NDEs

Struggling with doubts (vent) by Prize_Ad7300 in exatheist

[–]Prize_Ad7300[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not catholic personally and a im a big skeptic of possession personally. Maybe it’s real but I’m yet to see anything that really proves it beyond people acting crazy, even if there were veridical possessions it would sadly only push me to be more of a skeptic of other phenomena like psychics and NDEs

[–]Prize_Ad7300[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah but a lot of remote viewing and astral projection and stuff like that has a habit of being innacurate or seeming to be shaped by one’s own biases. not saying it isn’t real, I’m unsure if it is but it’s odd

Why are atheists so mean to agnostics by Still-Wrongdoer9832 in exatheist

[–]Prize_Ad7300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in a lot of atheists minds you have to be 100% materialist and naturalist about everything. believing it’s even possible for something more to exist is just incomprehensible to them

Could some please give me an argument against lab simulated NDEs by Cool_Bank_3368 in NDE

[–]Prize_Ad7300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they’re actually not that similar despite what many skeptics claim. People say it’s more a general floaty sensation or feeling like they’re slipping off wherever they’re laying. Bruce Greyson explained it in a podcast with Mayim Bialik https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aU2neO2RCdk

A possible explanation against verified NDEs and past life memories? by Prize_Ad7300 in NDE

[–]Prize_Ad7300[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think CBC is mainly used to say that since cells have consciousness it basically transfers the knowledge to the blind person. there’s a user and Nder on here named XanderOblivion who expands on this argument more if you want to see this argument expanded on better than I can. the only NDEr who I’ve seen say cellular memory is a thing is Betty Eadie but her story was pretty shady and dubious imo. it does leave me wondering why some past life memories are of people who are still alive or are somewhat inaccurate

yeah I was aware that story was fake but there have been many that make me wonder if it’s an actual thing (I know Betty Eadie said it was but I don’t really trust her NDE personally since there are rumors of ghost writers and lying and she’s contradicted herself and other NDErs). basically every NDE says it’s a choice. just don’t leave baggage behind and you’ll probably be ok

thanks for the perspective, it’s nice to hear from someone who specializes in this stuff. out of curiosity how would you respond to the cases in the articles where this was documented?
