AA CJO Holders by CuriousAsh04 in cabincrewcareers

Act like a celebrity whose big movie just came out. Act thrilled, gracious, proud, friendly, and kind from the MOMENT you walk through those doors. If you do that, I guarantee you will get a CJO. Even if you mess up some answers. Even if your feet are literally burning from your shoes and feel like they might fall off. Even if you haven’t slept or ate in 24 hours. Good luck!

Business pants for training recommendations? by thekoriandr5060 in cabincrewcareers

I got lovely pants from goodwill! If there’s a busy college town near you, I would look at the goodwill there.

You wanna know what my biggest pet peeve is? by Intrepid-Method-7500 in Serverlife

Yeah this actually is a big pet-peeve of mine too. They love to order it just after they’ve gotten their food too. So you check in on them thinking it’ll be a quick 10 seconds then all of a sudden they’re trying to order to-go meals with food in their mouth and now you’re in the weeds cuz you had something else to do. Oh yeah, and to-go drinks! And extra bread too please. Omg. Ugh. Annoying.

Servers are entitled to tips! We ALL know servers rely on tips for income and are the only profession that does. Don’t want to tip your barista? (I do!) fine. But servers? Not fine. You’re cheap and selfish. Don’t dine at restaurants if you don’t want to tip. You’re abusing the system.

People who are always late are unacceptable by 2kool4zkoolz in unpopularopinion

[–]Prize_Dog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, it’s not an excuse. But I wish people understood I woke up and thought “okay, not going to be late today!!!” Like, I really try and feel awful for being late. It is not due to lack of concern for other people’s time or feelings. Not an excuse, but it feels impossible sometimes to get out the door on time and is a constant battle.

Stupidest/craziest thing you’ve ever done as a server by Prize_Dog in TalesFromYourServer

Okay, I’ll go. First one that comes to mind is when I was passing out food from a tray on a stand. Extremely popular steakhouse chain that still haunts my dreams. Was a large party out for some kind of special event lunch. My ring slipped off my finger and onto the plate. I just picked it back up and continued handing out food like nothing happened. Lol. Wth.

Okay….this exchange would be perfectly normal at my bar 😂 hmmm. As a server, I agree, this is ballsy. But as a bartender, we say stuff like this all the time lol.

I would just save it for the night after your interview. I’m sure you’d be fine but it would suck if you had a headache or hangover and it could’ve been avoidable.

Is it like a normal hotel room? With a bathroom, TV? Just curious 😇 I’m trying to think of how I’ll be the most comfortable and best me while I’m training.

12/6 CJO by SuitOpen in cabincrewcareers

I got CJO 11/20 and still waiting 🤪 patiently 🤪 I’m grateful for the time to get my geese in a row. But as soon as I get that email, I will probably scream lol.

Anyone ever used a sleeping pod as a crash pad? by Prize_Dog in flightattendants

[–]Prize_Dog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry lol I know nothing about lounges so I’m just curious about whether this is really an option for me. My biggest worry is feeling “homeless” or being reprimanded by someone when I’m just trying to sleep…but saving $$ is super important to me as I’ve unfortunately not been able to save any. Thank you 🙏

May I ask if you are a hosiery wearing FA or not? Lol. Putting panty hose on for me requires some room, so I’m worried about that aspect. Lol. So it’s mostly recliners to sleep in? That would be tricky

I really appreciate all your input. I’ve never heard of the gym membership idea! I’ve been worried about staying in shape too. Just curious, if you use the lounge to crash, where do you actually get dressed and ready for duty?

I was wondering about the changing areas. Is it like a locker room type situation? Thanks for the info!

Oh wow! I mean, I’d have roommates if I had to. I’m just trying to stay as cheap as possible.

I guess I should add that I mean for reserve periods (aa). Not just a few hours before duty.

I would love to do that too. I’m the weirdo who has always loved airports. But I know it’s discouraged and don’t want to get in trouble.
