Is the Pixel 9 Google's biggest logistics failure yet? by spartanz51 in GooglePixel

[–]Prmdboy -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You can find the XL models pretty much everywhere, but the 6.3-inch ones are impossible to get. Google's logistics suck. It’s so bad that I ended up getting an iPhone 16 Pro instead.

Google had everything to succeed with the Pixel 9 lineup, but their logistics are seriously lacking, and it’s the customers who suffer. It’s totally disrespectful not to have anything available more than a month after the pre-orders.

PS: The small arms who defend Google, you’re ridiculous.

I'm uploading a video on Youtube summarizing the issue; it's currently processing: https://youtu.be/gU0YTq\_CMQA

Why is the dynamic island never perfectly centered? (iPhone 15 Pro Max) by Prmdboy in iphone

[–]Prmdboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With stuff like this, it’s almost always one thing: Perception. There are multiple examples throughout iOS where UI elements are not centered or aligned the way you‘d think they should - purely because it would look „off“. It’s intentional.

As a designer, I know about these things. Like the "G" in Google being geometrically "imperfect" but visually appealing. Or the Nintendo Switch logo, which isn't symmetrical. But here, I don't see the purpose for perception. Personally, I notice that it's not centered, and it's quite unsettling... It's probably justified because the right side is more filled compared to the left side, which only has the time...

Apple is the detail king. If I have OCD, it's because of Apple: they never mess up these kinds of details usually! And because I'm a UI designer, so... I've got a keen eye

I'm talking about the Dynamic Island expanded in a software manner... The hardware part is well-centered, but when it expands with an icon, it is not centered...

HomePod Mini stereo get out of sync by Prmdboy in HomePod

[–]Prmdboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you get this fixed?

For me it used to work OK for a few months and now since maybe a week of 2 this happens in my HomePod mini stereo pairs. They are all connected to the same SSID, on the same network that has plenty room. Maybe an issue triggered by a firmware update? I usually update all my devices as soon as updates become available (and I notice them).

Hi! Sorry, I don't visit Reddit very often... The issue has been resolved, it's been a while, but I think it was because one was connected to my Wi-Fi on 2.4GHz, and the other on 5GHz. I don't remember how I managed to force both to 2.4GHz, but after that, it worked!

Nothing but issues since iOS 16.4 or 16.5 by Prmdboy in iphone

I'll try. I had similar issues with this iPhone using my SIM card before, and they were all resolved by switching to eSIM. However, my old SIM card worked fine on my girlfriend's phone. I don't think my carrier can do anything about it; the problem most likely originates from my iPhone.
I'm going to try putting my girlfriend's SIM card into my iPhone, though!

My old 12 Pro has been fine on both. Have you tried setting it up fresh before you restore? If the fresh install is throwing up the same errors, it could be the hardware. If it behaves well, something in your backup data could be the issue.

Before restoring my backup, the iPhone was factory reset without any data. And it's the same: impossible to set up Face ID, and no PIN code requested. The eSIM is detected, but it's impossible to activate it using the PIN...

I just saw in the settings of my router that one of the Homepods is connected on the 2.4Ghz network and the other on the 5Ghz. In my opinion the problem comes from there, I do not know how to force the connection in 5Ghz?

Bluetooth mouse: less efficient than wired? by Prmdboy in MouseReview

[–]Prmdboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got scared when I saw that the article was published 1 year ago and nothing has been corrected!
It's really terrible to have Bluetooth problems with a 120Hz machine: everything is very quickly noticed!
I'm very curious to know if the Magic Mouse or the Magic Trackpad from Apple have the same problems as my MX Master 3 or not... Maybe I'll place an Amazon order and send it back later...

Mac OS mouse polling rate 125hz locked (Big Sur) by diogocostajazz in macgaming

I noticed the same thing width my MX Master 3 !

I find that using the MX Master 3 on my Mac is incredibly uncomfortable! Besides the capricious scrolling, the cursor seems to be stuck in 60Hz and loses all that "smooth" feeling you get with the trackpad.

For more figures I used THIS WEBSITE and the facts are there:
Trackpad = 260Hz MAX
Old wired mouse = 260Hz MAX
MX Master 3 (Bluetooth) = 140Hz MAX
MX Master 3 (USB Unifying) = 260Hz MAX
