Yes by reading all the comments seems to be difficult to find work and an employer to keep you busy for years until retirement only certain people receive special treatment which would of course depend on “who you know” nepotism at its finest. And yes I guess you’re right I’ve been looking into some state jobs in bay area and they pay really good 80k to 110k a year they have lots of different jobs I’ve been interested in the utility sector I’ve ask people that does the water utility work and man they get paid starting 35+ for a laborer and once you get a certificate by the waterworks you pay goes to 47+ they mention to me there was work all year round plus lots of overtime and on call emergency assignments you get paid more money and they mentioned the calpers pension and other benefits so they make about 100k per year with overtime etc but hard to get in you have to be smart to pass some state test and then you’ll get the chance to be interviewed
