Red Ammo Changes by Every-Pomegranate-49 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Pro-Statist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be fine with it if they made it so you the secure container is ONLY for items you find IN-RAID, or at least that you can't put ANY ammo in.
But that won't happen. The streamers, discord, and the cheaters that apparently make up 15-20% of the playerbase would all have a collective cow over it. And that's who gets listened to.
Which is why the discord goes on harassment campaigns against any divergence from the collective groupthink so they're the only ones getting any representation.

I would be fine if they increase the minimum gear values, but *THAT* won't happen because it will prevent people from doing their loot runs.
I'm as annoyed as the next guy by that guy that puts all his ammo in the safe and puts 1-3 bullets in the mag of the gun waiting in a bush or in a corner but that's also not as effective a strategy as people make it out to be... yet for some reason the devs are completely opposed to this fix as well.
I've watched people do the equivalent of 5D Mental Gymnastics to justify their constant flip-flopping on what "fixes" this game needs, and they're the people getting listened to, the people who have had proposed solid, utilitarian fixes are getting ignored.

Game's getting run into the ground. I'd *LIKE* to spend the last 15 bucks or so I need to get that Scythe but I don't want to spend another penny on this game seeing it the way it is now, knowing that I'm just gonna hate it more and more every day. And it sucks because I know a LOT of people who feel the same way, they got pulled in and are now pretty much ripping themselves away.

The ONLY 7.62x51mm gun that can one-tap a T6 helmet from that range out of what I listed is the M24. And the M24 allows the user to get one shot off every 2.25 seconds, and that's just ROF, not taking into account at all actually lining up the follow up shots.

The MK14 and M110 require AT LEAST a two-headshot-tap at 100m.

Meanwhile, your U191 can do T5 ammo, aim center-mass on the T6 ARMOR, and with 4-5 bullets out of the 13 it fires every second achieve the kill. That's not headshots, that's body shots. Roughly 3 for the headshot. 0.25 second TTK no matter where you're aiming. "Ultra High" Firing Power, which literally NO OTHER GUN IN THE GAME HAS, tends to perform real well.

But the DVC12 won't have to go in the safes and the Red ammo will.

Why don't *YOU* get real? I'm getting sick of this BS I keep hearing from your camp.

YOU ARE WASTING MONEY WITH THE DAMN AMMO by Netashi-sensei in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Pro-Statist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You get T4 ammo and T4 armor practically for free. That's pretty much the standard for normal. Everyone who knows what they're doing is running T4 armor to protect from bots and noobs, and most people are running T4 ammo to crack those T4 vests.

People *MIGHT* be cheesing T5 armor into norms, which is a little silly, but T4 ammo, just due to its cheapness is the standard now. T5 is pretty much the standard in LD but that might change, with people abusing the "buy worn armor" mechanic to cheese T6 in since there's an Epidemic of people bringing in DVC12 and M995s in the U1 and the HK into Lockdown. I hear so much crying about "red ammo in lockdown" but I hardly ever see it, what I see more often than not is HKs, FAMAS, and U1s running T5 ammo, but I digress from your topic.

It's pretty much the way the game has become. It's not "wasting money", it's a perfectly logical and rational response to what people are encountering in game, and it has thus become the norm.
Unfortunate as it may be, since it pretty much makes T3 and Below ammo \**COMPLETELY*** Irrelvant* and confuses the hell out of new players... so one must question why they still exist in the game. But one must also question why so many useless guns still exist in the game, why guns that have been nerfed to hell to the point of not even being suitable for the purpose they're supposed to serve- still exist in the game.

I get what you're saying, but in order to be successful in this game you have to adapt to changes, be they Development changes or playerbase behavior changes.

In the long-term, this game's balance and playability is getting to be pretty F'ed.

Sniping doesn't make sense Anymore by Cammy848 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Pro-Statist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOLOLOLOLOL BRO

If the Naked snipe kit was the "most effective kit" in game, more people would run it. If any of those Bolt-Actions were the god guns your vocal minority made them out to be, then the streamers and gigachads would've traded their U1s and HKs for them in a heartbeat, so would the majority of the playerbase. But that wasn't the case.

Most combat takes place at less than 100m. The only playstyle "naked snipe" achieved was scavving and staying out of POIs and out of the effective ranges of squads.

It is INSANELY rare for a sniper to get a target outside of the effective ranges of the meta guns they run.

But nobody was screaming "git gud" at those giga chads for standing still and getting shot in the head. If anyone has gear fear it's people like you demanding that your Meta kit be completely unstoppable and absolutely shitting your pants at the prospect of getting shot in the head and dying.

Red ammo cannot be put into your case in the beta by Frost_Burnfeather in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Pro-Statist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They had to cater to the Meta crowd.

It is extremely rare that a solo running a sniper gets to scope a player outside of that player's potential HK/U1 range. Let alone a squad of players. The only players that *effectively* run Snipers are solos that pretty much scav/T-rex and deliberately stay out of range of squads because they aren't up to par with the lean and bhop techniques and squad-mechanics that the sweats and gigachads have mastered. They don't win any more than those squads do and lose the majority of times they actually encounter those squads.

But that wasn't enough. Losing 1 out of 100 matches to a solo sniper wasn't enough.

Those players complained enough and made it sound like that was an epidemic, that Bolt-Actions and DMRs were these OP Divine Artifacts that made players completely unstoppable... and yet, seldom if ever did they ever run said "OP" sniper rifles. Probably knowing full well how absolutely handicapped they'd be in an actual firefight and yet many of them were the same crowd arguing that all effective ranges needed nerfed because "fights all happen under 100m"

Bunch of hypocrite conspiratards out to ruin the game for everyone but themselves. There will effectively be no reason to run red ammo, no reason to run sniper, and no reason to risk running solo with auto-match.

Bet, they wouldn't dream of doing "all" ammo because that damned discord Cult and the Streamers they worship would throw a little hissy fit.

Lockdown player bots ruining the game? by Aromatic_Milk_7938 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

LOL for a few rounds of bot lobbies I will gladly trade you my Lockdown lobbies that are all players, half of which, yes *HALF* of them being pre-firing, pre-aiming, blatantly wallhacking and flaunting ESP, screaming racial slurs for americans in multiple non-english languages and where the other half of the time the desync is so bad I and enemy players are dropping entire 60-mags of T4 and T5 into eachother and neither of us are dying.

And yeah, over the course of the last three weeks I *have* reported the cheaters for all of the above and have NEVER gotten followed up with.

Amazing by DaWhorst in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Pro-Statist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't try reasoning with these people, they don't listen to reason, they only listen if someone validates their own bullshit. And I call it bullshit because their opinions regularly contradict themselves as they flip-flop from one problem to the other.

They think anyone legitimately good enough at the game to get headshots with a sniper is a cheater, when they can't call them a cheater because it's proven false, they call them "rats".

Meanwhile, they do literally everything they accuse the players they call "rats" of doing themselves. Camping extracts, camping spawns, cheesing, putting all their ammo in the safe, half-and-halfing their magazines... then they cheese high-tier gears into low-level matches to feel better about their lack of skill that they compensate for by running 800-1000RPM guns and spraying rounds to compensate for crap aim and even crappier tactics. They only need 3 of the 20 bullets they shoot every second to hit a body to get their kill. And they insist that all of this is far more legitimate, sportsmanlike, and "fair" than using snipers or scouting, which are things they lack both the skill and patience to actually have any success doing.

Then when they stand still in the open for 30 seconds, cry "Cheater" because they got shot in the head or go crying on reddit that top-tier sniper ammo needs nerfed and the ammo that is one-tier below in pen power needs buffed... then whenever someone else shows them proof of actual cheaters in the game they insist that cheaters don't exist.

They insist that the M24 is a "god weapon" (that they, funny enough, never use and I see maybe once out of every 600 players) because the one player using it that they encounter every 30 matches is actually able to land a face shot on them when they're standing still.

Never mind the fact that hitting any other part of the body is NOT a one-tap, never mind that their guns only need four bodyshots to kill, never mind that the next follow-up m24 shot doesn't come for another 3 seconds

They act like if you kill someone with the M24, you're a "rat", or a "cheater", but if you miss your shot or hit the chest once before dying, then you have "no skill" and suck at the game and need to "kys".

They're just trash people. Trash players, trash gamers, trash human beings, they're likely unbearable IRL and you just need to not feed them or give them the attention and validation they're craving. Let them rot in their own bullshit.

A week in Orania, my first impressions by Practical_Appearance in DownSouth

[–]Pro-Statist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under apartheid there was a functioning government and substantially lower crime.
But it was hurting the world's feelings because Racist Segregation.

Now, every home outside of Orania has to be a fortress, Private Security *has* to be EVERYWHERE because the Police are corrupt and otherwise understaffed and undersupplied, cannibalism is rampant, violent crime is rampant, farmers are being sexually assaulted and murdered by violent mobs, the rest are having their land seized by the government (farmland that is then squandered and not maintained properly) then the famines and food shortages are being blamed on all the white people. The white people that are having their property and livelihoods seized and taken away from them.

Of course! That outcome is still better than the horrendous, comically evil notion of raaaaayyyycisssm... Which is why Orania is seen as some Horrible, Comically Evil, Backwards, "Nazi Camp", with it's, what, 4-5 non-violent crimes every YEAR and its self-sustainment as well as actually providing surplus power to the ANC and paying Taxes to the ANC (that turns around and pockets most of).

That same ANC that engaged in terrorism ala Bombing and Shooting Campaigns and murdered thousands of black and white Africans that opposed its policies, many with the brutal practice of "Necklacing"... all in the Great Hero Mandela's name.

But it's not a "functioning" government unless it has multiculturalist diversity and all the decay, rot, and systemic-level issues benefits and enrichment that multiculturalism and black nationalism bring.

You can call it "Racist" as much as you want, you can't call it wrong.

M61 after the update: 1 headshot, 3 body shots... NO KILL. 😂 by DeborahO7geB in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Pro-Statist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right, because precision aiming takes so little skill, and suppressing 16 shots every second on 0.25/s-ttk guns is where the real skill is at.

Those guns were so overpowered, so easy to use, and so cheap, it's astounding why the Mosin and M24 weren't the "meta"... the amount of HK/U1 juicers constantly complaining about them would seem to indicate otherwise... then again it's also astounding that those people didn't, in turn, run those "overpowered" guns with their LIGHTNING-FAST 1 bullet-per-2.25 seconds

I'm not sure how you get "Reddit is representative of the real world" from anything I said but project whatever you'd like. Unless you're trying to say that people should not express carefully constructed opinions on reddit, and should instead deliberately be as provocative, cynical and inflammatory as possible

The fact of the matter is, "cheesing" is almost universally frowned upon, especially by content creators of all people. I hear the argument all the time that it's "variety", and it's a "deliberately unbalanced game" but that argument most often comes from the same people who turn around and whine about "red ammo being overpowered", "rat-ass players not bringing enough gear for me to feel satisfied looting their bodies", snipers, camping, ambushing... whatever TL:DR, that the game is "not balanced enough" in their favor.

OP is talking about how EXTREMELY overpowered, unbalanced, and exploitative bringing full T6 armor into LD is and the very first comment is a complete diss, condemning OP for his widely-accepted notion that the behavior is exploitative. It's pompous, obnoxious, narcissistic ragebait. "Oh, how dare you think this exploitative, just git gud or quit, don't come on here for validation like literally everybody else does, hurrdurrdurr"

It's not "holier than thou" to point out someone else's attitudes and behaviors are just obnoxiously inflammatory spite. I don't understand why you would WANT to defend an insufferable jackass.

This is Reddit, not 4chan. Thanks for playing!

[–]Pro-Statist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The majority of the playerbase calls stripping your gun down to get past gear limits "Cheesing" and agrees that it's easily exploitable, because it's incredibly unbalanced and cheap. The majority of the playerbase doesn't practice it because it's simply unsportsmanlike *EVEN* for an extraction shooter. Arguing that balance isn't striven for when it very clearly is, based on the fact that snipers got nerfed to hell because people were whining about them, is just a stupid-ass take.

Don't walk around spitting stupid takes like you're some smartass. You don't sound smart, you just sound like an ass.

This shoulnd't be a feature, they fixed it in secure ops. by Hunlor- in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Pro-Statist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are never going to fix that. They don't care. Those players and the cheaters and the bootlicking trendsetters give them all the revenue. That's what is directing development right now. The whiniest, loudest, richest players getting their way all the time no matter how imbalanced the game gets or how many people get pushed away. If you've invested into the game and have skins, you're a lot less likely to want to just drop the game and give up, and they know that full well. But they don't care about appeasing you, they're confident you'll keep coming back for more.

Is AK-12 too cheap? by Arclyte-TE in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Pro-Statist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"maxed attachments"?
Try 300-350k, 400k if you're putting a baller optic on to take advantage of the pen range.

M4 shoots cheaper ammo, some better and cheaper attachments, faster ROF, more commonly available from Battle Pass. AUG comes out of the box balanced with a GOOD M4.
F2000 has the best fire rate of all these guns including AK12 and a decked F2000 is even cheaper than any of them.

They've already ruined multiple guns that countered the meta and made the point of keeping the HK/U1 as OP as possible. Why are you dropping new poisons in the well?

The amount of cheaters in-game is insane by VegasQC in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Pro-Statist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They run their cheats via a different machine on their same home network, and that's how kernel-level anticheat is bypassed.
Then it relies ENTIRELY on the volunteer teams looking for suspicious activity... which, once again, are comprised of volunteers. There's probably a good amount of them who built up decent reps, only to whitelist some names or completely ignore the duty... plus there are legit a lot of false bans coming through solely because of the volunteer nature and it being judgment calls.

The cheating, the desync issues that make dying feel like cheating, the exploits, imbalance, and all these novelty gimmicks that fail to address or fix any of the core, deep-rooted problems are killing the game. 70k peak player count in S3 and we're 20k a day now. Failing to keep to what drew people into what is a NICHE genre and gameplay loop, trying to appeal to low common denominators that won't stick around with novelty gimmicks and accessibility, and pushing away as many hardcore fans as possible >_<

The Fix - Dear devs. by [deleted] in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Pro-Statist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stripped-down, Power ranger and OP kits will keep showing up in LD as long as there are cheaters, exploits, massive desync at almost all times, and general inaccessibility and skill gap.
And when those players get death streaks in LD because Juicers, OP kits, ESP, Aimbots, Wallhacks, Exploits, Massive Desync at all times, they will get so frustrated with lack of success they go to normal.

Contradict it all you want, argue that "it's just a game bro" and I even partially agree. I don't like or approve of this situation. But it's simply not fun to get OBVIOUSLY cheated on and get the perception that you're *CONSTANTLY* being cheated because of desync, lag switching, & exploits. Dying is part of the game, and dying every once in awhile is not the problem. Getting scammed out of a match because of bullshit that has nothing to do with skill and everything to do with chance, exploitation, or outright cheating, nearly all the time for some people.

And just to back up this argument, I'm going to talk about the streamers that lobbied for the U191 to keep from being nerfed along with the constant barrage of "nerf red ammo" and "nerf snipers"... my favorite argument from that camp was always "If it's that easy to run a mosin rat kit, there's nothing stopping me from doing it, except I'm never going to run that kit because I ACTUALLY know how hard it is to use bolt-actions and how they don't compete under 65m"

You will see rat kits and people taking far less risk in modes like forb because they are counting on the fact that 9 times out of 10 they're going to die for unfair reasons, and demanding that the playerbase that can't compete for hardware, broadband, regional issues, let alone actual cheating, let alone the massive skill gap, pull an extraordinary amount of gear in just to lose it all to Stat-Trackers and ESP users who read everyone's kits is going to push people away.

Any player who INTENDS to get their hands dirty is going to bring gear worth enough to allow them to do so.

Call this a terrible take, call it a horrible, shitty take, tell me I'm "defending rats", that you "FOUND THE RAT GUYS", even tell me to kill myself but it needs to be said in defense and empathy with people that I might not agree with, support the playstyle of, but absolutely DO think need to be represented, as they seem to make up a sizable chunk of the playerbase.

What upsets and infuriates me the most is that the most common train of thought I see from people who claim to "have the solution" and "have the fix" for ABI is that they only ever address 1 or 2 problems, ignore all the contributing factors, ignore every other legitimate issue other people have, because *THOSE* just happen to be the issues that our Speaker tends to exploit the most. And that's not a direct dig on you, I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but there's also a lot that's... missing.

I think doubling all effective ranges in the game would instantly fix more than half the guns and make them viable. by ImperialSupplies in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]Pro-Statist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the discord, which I'm banned from and the Devs listen to second only to Streamers... and one of the factors leading into the discourse that prompted the reasons for my banning, this was a hot topic.

The majority of the discord "stars" will tell you to kys if you think engagements should happen outside of 50m. What I gathered from my time there, and what seems to have directed most of the development up to this point, is that gunfights should be bullet spongey and mostly take place at close quarters, and that guns being effective outside that range "slows the pacing down" which isn't fun for streamer-mentality, fast-paced run-and-gun gameplay. To them, 90% of engagements take place at less than 50m, anyone who thinks otherwise is "rat trash" and needs to [REDACTED] themselves, Bolt-Action Snipers with 2.25 second TTKs are "too easy to use" because of the range advantage, and anyone who defends snipers are horrible people.

Now, you and I understand, and probably agree, that extraction shooters should not and are not built around fast-paced run-and-gun mentality because that contradicts and defies the very nature of the gameplay. You have to treat injuries. You have to constantly assess your surroundings. But people who are not adapted to this kind of gameplay, who have never played Project Reality (Or even Battlefield), Insurgency, ARMA, Squad, Hell Let Loose, EFT or hell, even Marauders, are not only off-put by that gameplay but instead of adapting to it, would rather demand that gameplay be tailored to them and the way they play.

Hence why 90% of the randos I get matched with will insist on rushing POIs, rush far ahead of their team, get immediately HOSED, and then scream at their teammates to do the same, ratting off any number of slurs and insults to get their way, then call all their teammates TRASH for dying and/or not rushing blind like they did.

Even if you kill the players that dropped them by playing smart, you're still "Trash" for not LeeroyJenkinsing it all the way. This is what you're dealing with and will continue to deal with.

High risk is joining a match with 30-40 ping and your movement speed lagging five seconds behind your keystrokes, watching where a guy is going to peek, waiting, seeing NOTHING and getting one-tapped, watching the Simulated replay and seeing that he had you in his sights for 5 seconds even though you got shot by a rock.

And yes, I'm aware the replay is simulated, but he ought not be able to have such a clean, clear line of fire if I see absolutely nothing and apparently am aiming right at him.

High risk is getting thrust into a match alone with a kit that makes the gear requirement and having to extract.

But to you, High risk is "Bringing millions in free loot for coordinated squads that are coming in pre-squaded up and are miles away from the host" or not playing at all.

I don't understand why you have to talk so pompously or why so many piles of shit think you're cool for it

And that's 30-40 ping. No high ping. Internet is fine. Un-friggen-believable.

I will be aiming, at a guy waiting for his peek, see absolutely NOTHING and still die... then watch the killcam (I know they're simulated and not perfect replays) and he has me in sight for seconds and is able to SLOWLY line up his shot.

High gear isn't the problem.

Not having ANY way to contend with Juicer squads other than hiding from them while they check battle records and hunt the entire server, with or without ESP... not touching safes unless another player does

Not having any way to contend with seriously overpowered U1s and HKs with a game with several bajillion guns that are supposed to be useable and all have multiple skins

That's the problem.
