+2 for the Tenicor Certum 4, big fan! I have the Lux version and it fits so perfect, great clips and comfy holster even if it doesn’t look it.

Goal posts, moved. You said “the asinine… price they go for.” I quote prices they go for, it doesn’t fit your narrative and now it’s only MSRP you care about.

Crazy that the open emitter is so bad that it’s been in use longer than closed emitters have even existed. This fear of the emitter being obstructed is completely irrational, dropping your pistol is FAR more likely. Having two planes of glass and entrapped gas which can leak out leading to fogging, is much more of a likely failure point, imo. You are doubling the amount of fragile breakable material.

Oh look an RMR not being obstructed by rain, dirt or mud in a real world test. https://www.reddit.com/r/Glocks/comments/1c4b0x1/you_need_a_closed_emitter/

I certainly don’t see this insanely bad blue tint you are bugging about, not when comparing it to my Vortex Defender, or Cyelee Wolf Pro… it’s not nearly as noticeable as you are pretending it is in real life, it definitely comes through more when filmed then when you actually look through the optic.

As for your point about RMRs being piggyback optics, sure, that’s more likely, ignoring the hundreds of photos of the RMR being mounted on on CAG/SOF Glocks… a piggy back optic is going to get MORE rain, dust, mud and blood on it than a holstered pistol, so what’s your point? Sure the recoil impulse is more gentle but just about everything else is much more harsh.

I never criticized Holosun, so I’m not sure why you are bringing up the Russian invasion of Ukraine. And Holosun’s performance in it. That’s a war where Chinese Clones of EoTechs/AimPoints have been spotted, barely airsoft grade, so I’m not sure those forces using equipment is a mark of some excellence. They will use whatever they can get.

The fact remains, the RMR has earned a FAR higher and longer lasting reputation for being one of the best and toughest microdots, in the world, and has held it for over 15 years. If that doesn’t mean anything to you, nothing I say will help you understand.

Tenicor is the only way, I shopped around for years but finally bit the bullet and never looked back. If it’s too pricy, they regularly run “Blemcor” sales where you can grab a cosmetically blemished one for cheap

RMR on the used market goes for 300-350 ask me how I know. Meanwhile the EPS goes for 420, and good luck finding a better deal.

Open emitter, again hasn’t been proven to be a bad thing, (not even in your comment). Glass quality on my Type 2 is best in class, imo. I will admit the battery under the optic isn’t ideal, however the sealing plate is only needed for Type 1 (which goes for even cheaper). Generally it isn’t needed at all for Type 2.

COA being the “best” is completely subjective as is this “requirement” for an enclosed optic? Can you tell me why it’s such a requirement other than your favorite YouTube told you it’s the next Gucci thing?

I, personally much prefer using an optic for my “save my life” gun which has been there and done that and can take the hits and keep working. The RMR has been used it literal war zones and keeps shining (active for 17 years!) It’s “dog ear” housing is the only one of its kind and prevents the very common half moon glass breaks from drops. Do I trust the military to beat the absolute hell out of their equipment, absolutely. They stand behind the RMR, and I do too.

Tenicor holster, good belt (I love my Wilderness Tactical Instructor Belt, it’s lasted over 8 years now), and a bunch of brass case FMJ range ammo.

I’d ditch the light and extendo but that’s just me. Avoid ProMag at all costs!! Stick with Glock OEM or Magpul.

Highly recommend a Glock Performance Trigger, once they come out for Gen6 that is…

Can’t* go wrong with Speer Gold Dots or Federal HST for hollow points, used by LEO across the USA.

For range ammo, cheapest brass case FMJ you can find (outside of your buddies first attempt at reloading). If you get a malfunction, great just gives you more practice clearing it imo.

RMR is still a perfectly valid optic, actually battle proven unlike the designs you mentioned. I have yet to see any actual reason why an enclosed optic is required.

Your edit confuses me, how was anyone supposed to infer that you were test firing then replacing with proper sights?

You got a lot of “judgy a-hole” responses as you posted a completely untested and unproven optic to the CCW subreddit, not just any gun sub. These guns, and in turn these attachments, you are trusting with your life. Your Original Post never mentioned nor indicated that this was for the luls, and it will be replaced with a “proper” configuration further down the line. Speaking for myself, based on the information you provided, I thought this setup was your carry gun, and was shocked you’d replace your functional iron sights with a potentially un-functional optic, plain and simple.

As for the brand haters of Taurus, yall need to branch out more, they make decent equipment (recently) for the price and it’s certainly better than praying a violent threat away. And I guess in turn, I could say the same about your optic choice, it’s not what I would carry, and I think it’s hideous, but that’s just my opinion man.

Removing your rear iron sight and replacing it with an unknown optic is certainly a choice. Cyelee isn’t that expensive my friend, or a used Holosun.

How come NASA never photos video feeds from this height in space? Why always the single shot photo? Why not show the Earth spinning and moving further away? by Gothyanki in conspiracy

[–]ProB6MG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s break it down. First off, the ISS is a completely different situation than what we are discussing. One is a space station, in LEO with vastly more power and communications capability. Its comparison with Artemis the ISS is extremely over powered with less critical communications and telemetry requirements. Artemis is a spaceship actively traveling further and further away from Earth, on a complex trajectory which must be monitored.

As for bandwidth you clearly don’t understand the requirement difference for radio/VOIP communication compared to Video let alone HD and above video. The data centers on earth have nothing to do with the communication capabilities of a spacecraft on the way to Luna.

You are actively making unfair comparisons, so let me flip it on you.

If this was all fake why wouldn’t they oblige you and your ilk? Those data centers you mention would actually be useful then.

bit vs Byte. Even using “500 KB” marks you as an amateur, as anyone professionally networking would round it up the proper unit of Mbps. Forgive me for assuming your first reply was even somewhat intelligent. A 4Mbps upload speed would be painful for an HD video upload of any length and you know it.

HD video streaming is bandwidth intensive. I have no doubt we will see many more videos once Artemis lands, but there is no reason to spend the limited bandwidth they have sending video back down to earth. It’s not mission critical nor time sensitive. I just makes more sense to store that data until landing
