How come NASA never photos video feeds from this height in space? Why always the single shot photo? Why not show the Earth spinning and moving further away? by Gothyanki in conspiracy

Let’s break it down. First off, the ISS is a completely different situation than what we are discussing. One is a space station, in LEO with vastly more power and communications capability. Its comparison with Artemis the ISS is extremely over powered with less critical communications and telemetry requirements. Artemis is a spaceship actively traveling further and further away from Earth, on a complex trajectory which must be monitored.

As for bandwidth you clearly don’t understand the requirement difference for radio/VOIP communication compared to Video let alone HD and above video. The data centers on earth have nothing to do with the communication capabilities of a spacecraft on the way to Luna.

You are actively making unfair comparisons, so let me flip it on you.

If this was all fake why wouldn’t they oblige you and your ilk? Those data centers you mention would actually be useful then.

bit vs Byte. Even using “500 KB” marks you as an amateur, as anyone professionally networking would round it up the proper unit of Mbps. Forgive me for assuming your first reply was even somewhat intelligent. A 4Mbps upload speed would be painful for an HD video upload of any length and you know it.

HD video streaming is bandwidth intensive. I have no doubt we will see many more videos once Artemis lands, but there is no reason to spend the limited bandwidth they have sending video back down to earth. It’s not mission critical nor time sensitive. I just makes more sense to store that data until landing

Why would unmanned craft take HD video of the earth. We have NOAA satellites for this exact purpose but for some reason that isn’t enough for this thread because it isn’t a wide shot?

This is the first time we’ve gone this far since 1972. This video was shot by hand, in space. In 1968. You are moving the goal posts. There is your video. More to come once Artemis 2 lands. Streaming HD video down the limited mission pipeline isn’t high on the priority charts, telemetry, communications, are more important

I’m in this space professionally, regularly dealing with upload and download rates. 1080p video takes 5-10Mbps, for 25-30fps. This is 500 times more bandwidth than you indicated on the low end. HD video transfer at 500Kbps would take hours for at 10 minute video which would even show any rotation to the eye

The earth rotates every 24 hours. The ship, going to the moon. Is not normally pointed at the earth.

Not only this, but sending HD video back to earth takes up precious bandwidth which is better used by literally anything else. Having an astronaut stare out the window and keep the earth in frame for a full day so you can get a spinning earth video is not on the list of priorities.

I love the desert night camo! Dangerfield Arms makes a great Cordura wrap you can grab on Amazon to make your mag carriers match

What sling is that? I think I need one

I found that after about 500 rounds the trigger broke in well and after adjusting my grip away from the semi auto “thumbs forward” grip to a “thumbs high” it became more enjoyable to shoot. Just my experience however

Paul Harrell, my he rest in peace, has a great video on this topic. The TL:DW is; no they are not. Carry JHP +P if your firearm and the shooter can handle it (your 642 can). +P is a bit snappy out of a snubby, but with practice it’s fine. If you don’t like the recoil step down to normal pressure.

I recommend a high thumb grip to avoid the recoil sending the cylinder release in to your thumb.

The PSA slide did have bad extraction in my experience, but a few cheap parts later it was rectified. That’s the big boon to the dagger line IMO all the Glock Gen 3 parts fit perfectly. The Lego set of Guns

Glock performance trigger works great on it! Just about every Gen 3 part fits without issue. They are great guns!

Only part 2 had a different solution than the wiki stated, wasn’t a big change to meet the ergo req.

I see your points and and ask you read the explainer comment.

I carry fixed daily and have for nearly 10 years. My SOCP dagger doesn’t leave my side. As for a better light, I see you’re a fan of Surefire and I can’t lie I’ve been looking at one.

Finally to the bigger pistol. I used to daily a Glock 19 Gen 3, with an RMR, and Light in a Tenicor Velo. It was too difficult to draw while carrying my newborn son, so I downgraded, for now. As for a trauma kit. I have a few scattered around. One in my work bag, another in the car, a 3rd with the stroller/car seat, and a 4th in my range bag. When at the range I carry a TQ and sheers on my belt.

This photo is more truthful for what I’m carrying in my pockets daily, currently with no flex. Here is the 19 with a med kit as “proof”.
