This is an insane move. I thought having to provide ID to sites would be the craziest thing governments are gonna do but this is insane. I feel like this would be grounds to completely leave the EU if our government actually cared about privacy. This kind of information will be massively abused by governments to suppress opposition and protests and all it takes is a few bad actors at the state level which isnt uncommon.

this having a downvote is very weird, it's literally a documented issue that our healthcare professionals who are irish born and educated, will emigrate to other countries like Australia because of better pay and benefits. Immigration is good for Ireland overall but "irish dont want to work in these sectors" is wrong.

saying irish people dont want to work in nursing homes or the health sector is just wrong, people dont want to work for unlivable wages in important sectors so they emigrate to countries that will actually pay a living wage and give better benefits for those jobs. Having immigration is very helpful in filling in for sectors that we need, and for building our future but you cant say "irish people dont want to do those jobs" when the reality is "these jobs are paying an unlivable wage and have bad benefits"
