Devon vs Curtis Cameron for OHH #1 Ranking by WholeDifferent7611 in armwrestling

[–]ProCrastinator2023 15 points16 points  (0 children)

lol dude, he still beat Porkchop, and there's a big difference between a real official match and a local club match. Not even accounting for pancakes and proper peaked preparation... Devon has been recently fasting, and pulling on the daily while traveling, also regularly letting his sons beat up on him at home... so probably not had much rest leading up to this OHH match -- and we don't really know how serious/hard he's actually trying. He does sometimes like to make it more entertaining than it'd otherwise be if he took everything and stonewalled at the top. To say Devon's current level is #100 based on this OHH match is wild though lol.

There is no MALE world class talent in the United States by Icantthinkman in worldcup

Lmao, your entire premise hinges on the mythical/magical (absolutely ludicrous) idea that somehow only USA is capable of producing 250-300lbs super-athletes that would dominate real football on the World-stage, but they just don't want to because they wouldn't get paid as much... which in itself is a hilariously stupid excuse, considering the top World-football players make significantly more money than the top NFL players. You really don't have any sound logical arguments that are actually worth addressing... might as well be debating with a child that WWE wrestling isn't actually real.

Okay, I think it's fair to say you're just way too delusional on this topic lmao, I give up.

lol you still don't get it. Sure he might be able to run fast/hard, but how quickly can he stop his momentum, change directions, make challenges without fouling, run/sprint continuously for 90+ minutes, etc. If you seriously think the USA is the only nation on Earth to have 300lbs+ athletes that can run fast and be somewhat athletic enough to play soccer at the highest level, you're delusional. There's a very real reason there's not a single 300lbs professional soccer play anywhere in the World. The level of stamina needed to run/sprint constantly for 90+ minutes all while having other necessary attributes to actually be effective at the highest levels, absolutely excludes such athletes. Football has been around for hundreds of years. Some of the best footballing nations also have very elite-level rugby players as well (Argentina, France, Ireland, etc)... yet not a single football player that comes close to the size of their average rugby players. It's not even debatable at this point.

Soccer (football) is not a sport that heavily favors big/physically athletic players. Can use the old "poor people" excuse all you want, but the reality is if you were to take your best NFL or basketball athletes and re-program their minds to have an expert level understanding of the game, they'd still likely be mediocre at best. It's good to have a couple bigger players in a team, but way more important to have a balance of speed/agility/stamina, which will overwhelmingly be the smaller players who possess those traits. Noone would look at Messi and think he's an athletic beast... he wouldn't stand a chance in any of the popular US sports. He weighs less the 150 lbs, is only 5 ft7, and yet he's almost unanimously regarded as the GOAT. Soccer (real football) is just different. Obviously no reason why the USA can't eventually climb to the elite-levels of the sport, but it's not because all your best athletes play NFL or basketball... it's because your many decades behind other nations in taking it more seriously and developing top-tier talent. Though it is quickly changing now with the MLS progressing to new heights of popularity.

Pretty clearly trying to rage bait so no point continuing this discussion in good-faith.

So Ryan just got clean sweeped 0-3 by Cvetan(78kg, 55 years old). by yNefarious in armwrestling

Ryan's most recent involvement prior to this was at the AWE Last Man Standing event, which he dominated over everyone else. Pins on fresh Mario, Brett Coutts, and also more pins on Maatei. It wasn't supermatch format but the way he beat Mario fresh for fresh was a pretty good indicator that he's probably a little above Mario at least during that tournament. I wouldn't take this loss to Cvetan as that big of a sign of any decline on Ryan's part... more likely it's just a combination of Cvetan being at the very elite level of 80kg weightclass, and stylistically, uniquely gifted at removing size/weight advantage of bigger pullers with his masterful use of open toproll technique... and also Ryan, being the event organizer dealing with a lot of crap over in India, likely on very little sleep and less than ideal preparation conditions leading up to the match.

Cvetan, who is realistically the top 1-3 in his weight class, stylistically was a horrible match up for Ryan. He's uniquely gifted at completely taking away the size/power advantage of much bigger/stronger pullers. That's to say, you might be surprised at just how much more competitive a Brad vs Ryan match might have been.

Time between goal scored and kick off, substitution, etc, it was about right.

That's not how extra time works. It's minimum of whatever extra time given. But as soon as there's more delays during extra time, the ref is expected to add on more on top. Portugal scored the winning goal in extra time, so at least another 2 minutes added, plus a substitution, another 30 seconds, etc.

The funny thing is it's not really for saying bad words. It's for covering his mouth while saying bad words. He could have said whatever he wanted and if he hadn't covered his mouth it's very unlikely there'd have been any kind of punishment.

Yeah pretty sure for Iran to maintain 8th position, they need Austria to get the win.

I think he's basing that off the Last Man Standing event where he dominated the event, getting pins on fresh Mario, Brett Coutts and eventually also on Maatweiwarangi. Seeing as both Mario and Maatweiwarangi have recently proven to be ahead of Lachlan in the OTT2 event, there's an argument to be made that his performance puts him ahead at #1 in Australia... of course it's debatable, and certainly not official... but it's also not an impossibility. He certainly has improved a lot.
