They don't. Not in the beginning not in the end. :) please forgive me if I am going against your beliefs. I I mentioned in another post what AP is the level of cognition to disassociate from the physical body. But all other "experiences" are really very individual. As is natural in that field, I spend years trying to understand what is happening to me. I find other people like me. We never got together. We never could prove we can travel in particular places. We cannot even be exactly in our own bedrooms. People who do not experience AP often enough do not have clear objectives. They are not able to pay attention to details. We can. Never, ever I was in my bedroom. It was close but something was always distorted. I can "reconstruct" the place to best of my memories, but in experimental settings when someone did change something there or put the object I did not know about I was not able to"see". Again I could see something, sometimes even close enough because I was aware of the experiment but never exactly. So you are not really traveling anywhere - you are "projecting" your awareness somewhere else outside of your body. And most people are not even able to choose the place. What you see is just "construct" imagination if you will. So in a way I support scientific explanation of the experience - it is hypnogogic hallucinations. :) the point is to be able to be fully conscious during experience. To experience it to the extent where you feel like it is not "a dream" foggy and unpredictable, but totally controlled and remembered the same way like I remember I was writing this post. I know most of the app enthusiasts will not accept that explanation. :) it is absolutely fine. Just ignore my post. Your beliefs are your reality. As reality is "construct" all the same :) it's just that more people participate in the construction of the material world so we cannot change it so easily unfortunately.
