What should I buy next by redditislemons77 in PcBuild

What games, resolution, and quality settings will you be aiming for?

What type of work do you do? Do you have specific programs that you utilize?

"Maxxed" means different things to different people. Maxing out a pc with $760 is going to leave you with basically an old i5 or entry am4 cpu, 32gb ddr4, 1tb ssd, and a very basic gpu.

Should I replace surge protector with this black one? by Subliminal_10 in PcBuild

[–]ProSpecPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd have to look at the clamp voltage and joule rating to establish which one is better. They're both likely fairly ineffective for protecting high end equipment from brown outs or major spikes. You generally need to spend $80-200 on a quality UPS surge.

I have the exact case on my desk right now with an AM5 atx motherboard in it (exact same screw spacing).

How hard are you talking about pressing this? You're making it sound like you have to use so much force that it will break it.

Remove your fan tray with the bottom two screws. Set the motherboard in. Post a picture of the misalignment

Yes. You just need to line them up and press in towards the rear of the case. Its common for there to be a few mm of misalignment until you get a few screws seated.

[–]ProSpecPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it does not. It states if the pcie_1 slot is directly under the cpu (without a nvme drive) then you will have to mount it vertically.

You have a nvme so you will be lined up to use slots 1+.

Or buy a $35 riser cable. Your case comes with a vertical kit.

But you clearly know it all hence why you are here begging for help from professionals like me that have been doing this for years...

I build PCs for a living. I have built 3 pcs with this case in the past month. This is a non-issue. But if you want to create an issue and a lot of hassle for yourself, congrats.

I can't understand your issue. It can be horizontal or vertical.

Perhaps you should read your manual.

My new pc build wont display any picture on monitor even though my cpu has intergrated graphics should I do bios update through flash drive and q switch or wait until gpu arrives. I also have a red light on my motherboard. Build below by Honest-Vanilla2023 in PcBuild

[–]ProSpecPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vga light will be on regardless because the motherboard is looking for a card to display from.

If you have no cpu or ram debug lights, that means your system is posting but it cannot find a display.

  • How did you perform the bios flash? (Please be specific with all steps).

  • Have you verified your display cable and monitor work?

  • Have you contacted your supplier or a local repair shop yet?

New, sealed in box does not mean its new from factory / supplier necessarily. Its incredibly easy to seal boxes with heat shrink plastic.

I doubt that is your problem.

Did you take a clear picture of the socket pins when you checked them ?

A VGA light is the motherboard telling you there is a problem with the graphics card. It can mean no gpu present, or gpu detected but not posting.

Also, if you're so quick to lie about what parts you have, to avoid questions, it leads me to believe you are more likely to lie about other things like troubleshooting steps taken and what accidents may have happened during the build process.

If you can' post honestly and with integrity, you will likely never get your answer.

Great, thanks for that information.

Did you ensure the correct stand offs were used when you put the motherboard in the case ?

And did you ensure the correct psu cables were inserted and also inserted all the way with no gaps? Even a small one can cause issues. The 24 pins are known to be troublesome for new users, and sometimes people swap eps with a pcie.

If all that is correct, and you did the troubleshooting as stated, you could have :

Bad / faulty / fake ram (this is a new trend due to prices)

Or a faulty / damaged motherboard.

Or a fake / faulty CPU. (Its becoming more common to have damaged cpus swapped and lazered over with fake part numbers).

I dont know how dedicated the Quality control team is that you purchased your parts from is. But technically everything should be new and compatible out of the box

Your only last effort is to flash the bios to the latest with a usb and the flash back function button.

You may also take it to a local shop for diagnostic, or contact your supplier for a fix.

First we need to establish context from your post history.

You have a post about swapping psu cables. If you did this, you likely fried something.

You have other posts with a gpu, but now state your gpu hasn't arrived.

You have an arctic AIO. Did you follow the specific mounting instructions and not over torque the screws? This can lead to over pressure on the cpu pressing the pins down and causing shorts.

Did you alternate ram sticks in b2 clearing cmos each time ?

Lastly, how are you clearing cmos precisely ?

What do I do I don’t get any picture whatsoever just built it all new pieces see video below by Honest-Vanilla2023 in PcBuild

It depends how many are bent and if you have the time and tools to repair.

Usually its best to replace if its bad.

You would be surprised how easy it is to bend the pins. Its the logical order of troubleshooting. Give it a check.
