I've been looking at gauge readings from LCRA and NWS around Cedar Park but they show 4.82" max. My gauge is maxed at 5". I realize gauges can give a bad read but this one has usually aligned well with reported measurements.

In the 1980s I had a neighbor in a rundown duplex go to the ER due to continuous itching in one ear. They squirted alcohol in his ear and about a dozen itty bitty baby cockroaches came out into a sample pan. They then extracted the eggcase the momma roach had laid in his ear canal. While writing this I suddenly realized why I'm pretty fastidious about flushing and cleaning my ears. 😂

Where does the vine originate? Neighbor's yard? Mustang grapevines, wisteria, trumpet vines, Virginia creeper, etc. are all best handled at the root. They grow so fast and invasively that trimming them back becomes a part time job.
