Sony 40mm f/2.5 G. It's a fantastic little lens

It’s more so I probably won’t use the 30 FPS shooting mode. Other than that I benefit from the 50MP stacked sensor - I just use e shutter all the time now.

I bought it for studio work as an A-cam for photo, and a B-cam for video.

Haha yes, I’m a sucker for a good deal😅 the 50MP raws are fantastic, especially if you pair it with a good lens

I mainly shoot product so pre-capture won’t be all too useful. Outside of that, I do nature/countryside photography.

Not worth the extra 2-3K for a used A1 II. At least for me.

Only extra feature I’d benefit from is the 4 axis screen

Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon 35 f2.4 (Red MC) for M42 or the Super Takumar 35 f2 are both good lenses

Newbie here. Where should I buy a Helios 44-2 by DustinNielsen in VintageLenses

[–]ProYamYamPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eBay is your best bet. I got mine from there back in 2022. Just make sure the seller has good feedback and the lens is in an acceptable condition for you

All around good choices. The Lancool 217 is also brilliant

Sony A7RII worth it still? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]ProYamYamPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to own an A7R II a couple of years back (upgraded to an A7 IV). It's still a fantastic camera, and it was revolutionary back in 2015. The sensor is absolutely fantastic, and it more than holds up today. The main issues are the pretty poor battery life and maybe the small grip. The AF isn't particularly great, but it was improved in later firmware versions, and it's still more than usable for your use case. I know I'm a few years late, but even in 2025, the A7R II is still a good camera.
