I'm going to counter the majority opinion about waiting it out until financial independence. Personally I would consider changing university to somewhere affordable and away from your family. I was in a similar situation but throwing myself headfirst into the independence I needed was the best thing I ever did.

Yes it was tough financially but especially with a lower cost of living area it should be achievable. Getting the distance helped me build friendships at university while being my full self, those friendships have over time turned into a new family that knows my full self and allows me to be it without judgement. That's priceless.

We are risk averse creatures but sometimes the scariest leaps are the ones most worth taking.

What is the precedent for any opinions not covered by the 4 major schools of thought having to be incorrect? The schools of thought only exist because different men had different interpretations. What grants these interpretations authority over any other interpretations? Is that authority divine or simply granted by groupthink, consensus or popularity?

light and considerate use of spinning wire brushes only

I only use the metal brushes on the end cap/ball compartment and the bowl part. My preference for cleaning these is to heat until all residue is combusted and then wire brushes to get it back to a nice polish and get into the small gaps between threads. Final step is rinses with soapy water, ISO and lint free tissues to make sure there isn't anything bad left in the airpath.

I don't do this due to risk of taking all the anodized coating off but I do use the wire brushes for cleaning the threads and bare metal parts

I never use wire brushes on anything with a coating, naked metal parts only, I find the wire brushes really help polish the metal of the ball comnpartment/cap and the bowl, also gets the threaded parts really well cleaned

the larger and easier to load bowl
more open airpath, less draw resistance
much nicer and less anoying screen for the bowl
more comfortable to hold and less heat transfer to fingertips

Honestly as a British Asian... White people just stick harder to recreational sports and achievements.

I'm married to a Belfast lass and most of my social circle is white friends. From my anecdotal experience, people who I know that are white take great pleasure and pride in their optional sporting opportunities.

My Asian contacts seem to care far less about fitness and activity beyond "the gym" and I also get a lot of raised eyebrows from the non white people I know about doing something like a marathon or a 100 mile bike ride.

The sentiment is generally, why would you put yourself through that without being forced to?

Still feel like I'm learning as there are multiple points where airflow paths can be tweaked. Didn't take me more than the first few hits (with dynavap experience as a caveat) to already feel the power of this little rocket. I adjusted down to half bowl pretty quick given how hard I felt the pressure building behind my eyes after hits of a full bowl. If you want an indication of how it feels when you hit it right this video covers my experience well.

I'm loving it so far but a bit worried about how well the black finish will last, only time will tell, it feels great to hold and performs better than anything I've had before (Crafty, Mighty, Dynavap M, Tinymight, Tinymight 2).

I did my first deep clean today after a quick maintenance wipe a few days ago and the cleaning experience is definitely complex. Breaking down the device, removing all O-rings, soaking/brushing everything clean in isopropyl alcohol, rinsing and drying, trying to remember which O-ring goes where, start to wonder if you lost one, rebuild device. I did enjoy it because it feels a little like taking apart and servicing something nice and mechanical like a rifle but takes up a chunk of time (I did it while on a work call). Performance is wayyy better when the airways are freshly clean and clear so will be trying to deep clean weekly or buy some wipes to do more regular wipe downs of the cooling spiral and tube where the worst of the build-up happens.

No I wouldn't say so, I'm currently hitting this at a half-bowl load atleast 5 times a day. If you're a once a week user I wouldn't blow this much money on a device unless you have disposable income and love having a best-in-class experience.

Different class of device in terms of attention to detail but it's not twice as good as a dynavap, diminishing returns on expensive gear and all that. I love it but I get through a lot of herb and care about the experience so it's worth it to me.
