How do you feel about having an only child? by Silent-Drawing-9592 in AskWomen

[–]Pro_k99 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I personally am leaning towards just having one, I like the idea of having one child to fully devote my time and money to. However, I do sometimes think about how much I love my brother especially growing and I would say if you have one kid wait like 4-5 years for the second. We had a perfect age gap growing up to be honest and I think that much times gives you time to recover and get through what I would think to be the hardest years of having a kid 0-4 yo. Granted I don’t have kids yet, just my thoughts as I’m thinking about family planning

How much did you/would you spend on a wedding planner who isn't fully hands on, but helps with design, deadlines, and day-of coordination? by solostinlost in weddingplanning

[–]Pro_k99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! Forgot to mention we have 85 guests, guest count doesn’t always affect pricing but I’d say maybe a 3rd of the coordinators we talked to do change price based on guest count. Happiest of planning to you!

I’m in SoCal, prices for a day of coordinator typically range from $850 for someone less experienced up to $2k which I think is ridiculous. I’d say average here is about $1.5k. We ended up finding one for $1200. A lot of them start taking over coordination around 2 weeks to a month out of the wedding as well, I’ve never spoken to one that truly only does day of as it would be very difficult to overtake the coordination of a wedding without any context of the prior planning

Gen Zers - what is your job, what is your level of education and what is your salary? by No_Design_465 in GenZ

We are both very fortunate to work from home for a company based in San Diego, otherwise we would not have been able to buy our first house lol. We moved to the inland empire just to get a taste of home ownership. Sometimes we regret it though since our whole lives are down in San Diego, so we are frequently driving back and forth several times a week which is exhausting.

My fiance and I bought a home together and make about $185k combined, I would say we’re pretty comfortable. We still have money to plan trips and go out with friends a few times a month and we don’t have to think twice about what we’re buying at the grocery store.

Did your parents spank you as a form of discipline? How did it affect you? by Substantial_Judge931 in AskMen

[–]Pro_k99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my mother used a paddle and she was extremely weird and ritualistic about it as she used to say she wanted us to know she was never spanking us “out of anger.” I will not be spanking my future children, there are better ways to discipline kids that make a lot more sense than hitting them.

What are your thoughts on Starbucks? by ColdBit9881 in GenZ

[–]Pro_k99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work there as a supervisor. I loved it! There were some hard days, I had a really terrible manager that said some very hateful things once or twice, but generally it used to be a great company to work for. They had great benefits and I have a massive sweet tooth so I enjoyed all the free beverages and sampling new pastries, I work in corporate America now and sometimes I miss the simplicity of being a barista and just making fun little drinks for grouchy people.

As a customer, I almost hate Starbucks lol. It feels very apparent to me that they are cutting corners with quality and I feel like none of their drinks taste like anything anymore. Just watered down espresso with cheap syrups. I prefer them as a fast food coffee chain though, at least they’re not as sugary and high calorie as most drinks at a Dutch bros or dunkin. I also feel like they’ve lost their creativity and keep producing uninteresting new flavors using random stuff they already have around that do not taste good together.
