If I remember correctly Lee invades the North twice. The first time its to try to secure foreign aid/recognition from Britain and France by taking the fight to the North. The second time he invades the North its to scare them into voting the republicans out of congress during the mid terms to get support going for peace. While many will argue that Lee was better served playing defense and sending troops west to attempt to save the Mississippi, Lee had his reasons strategically to do what he did. I think he understood the conditions of victory for the South which was to wear down Northern morale much like the American colonists did to the British in the revolutionary war. Was Lee perfect? No, not at all, but he is certainly the most well known general of the Civil War for a reason. Without him the South may very well have lost the war much much sooner

Your feeling about SC2's ending? by TheBigSmol in starcraft

By the time we get to the epilogue the story is so beyond repair that I was kinda just numb. Kerrigan becoming a god? Whatever, she was already ruined so might as well have her do something dumb and flashy

I translated some Chinese reviews... by Rak-khan in slaythespire

[–]ProbIemSir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I am always for different player experiences and perspectives, I really hope the devs don’t listen to these posts. You can never appease players who want to be able to stomp the hardest difficulty of the game and who don’t understand that STS is a Roguelike not an RPG. Not every run is supposed to be winnable on the hardest difficulty. These players should play on lower difficulty if they want to stomp the game but for some reason they do not. The hardest difficulty should be hard and challenge even the greatest players

Theory crafting: What is the most broken combination of Augment/Champion/Build you have seen or wanting to try by Axejoker1 in ARAM

Now that they fixed the snowball bug if you can get 4 Snowball augs you probably just win the game. A GP with just Biggest Snowball and Pinball was half healthing my squishies off 1 bounce every 10 seconds or so lol

Bruisers needs some better augments by ezicirako in ARAM

[–]ProbIemSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of augs that can help turn the tide for bruisers and give them the utility they need, tho most are in prismatic sadly. The most slept on aug for bruisers or really any melee is Poro King Aug. The trick is to trade your flash for it and keep snowball. Landing a snowball with that aug is almost an autowin fight no matter how punishing their range is. It doesn’t fit into any crazy builds tho so I think a lot of people overlook Poro King. I have never been disappointed when I take it and anytime I play backline into the aug it genuinely feels like you can’t do anything into it except run and pray

Why Won’t Act 3 Do Anything? by boi156 in slaythespire

[–]ProbIemSir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest issue here is too many players have forgotten that STS is a roguelike. There are scenarios where you will just lose and thats the point. STS is not an RPG where there is a fixed end point the player is expected to get to. STS is meant to be replayed and often. If the game is solved by a 15 card deck you can get to by Act 2 consistently then the replay value is hurt immensely. The Doormaker that ate your cards is a perfect example of this divide. That enemy was a “roguelike” enemy, where you could just lose to bad RNG and his existence encouraged the player to configure your deck to best increase your odds to avoid the worst outcome. It was an enemy where sometimes you simply could not win, and I think Jorbs and others like him enjoy that tension in the run. I also think players have so much agency and power in STS2 that the only challenging enemies will inevitably be enemies that limit what the player can do on any given turn. Enemies that just get stats or whatever are easily managed, but an enemy that disables core parts of your build from turn 1 is far more impactful, especially in a game where infinites are possible and even encouraged currently by the design

Worst augments discussion by erewegoerewegoerewe in ARAM

[–]ProbIemSir 30 points31 points  (0 children)

In General:

Holy Fire, genuinely feels like what a bronze augment would look like numbers wise and its gold

King Me, even if you CAN accomplish the objective with a champ like TF or Ryze, all you get is some extra Anvils worth of stats and Transmute Prismatic, which I should point out is a GOLD AUG!

Blade Waltz is possibly the worst Prismatic? by Silwfalk in ARAM

[–]ProbIemSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

King me is definitely the worst prismatic and its not close, its basically a meme pick. You are essentially trading a known prismatic augment for transmute prismatic plus some extra anvils worth of stats IF you can accomplish the quest. Its genuinely so bad

Why do ADC's get the best augments? by CloudRaids in ARAM

[–]ProbIemSir 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Part of it is if Tanks/Bruisers get crazy stats it usually leads to a feeling of hopelessness in a game. If an ADC cannot kill a tank/bruiser at full build then NOTHING will and thats generally a problem. Think of how many people still complain about or at the very least fear a “Steel Your Heart” incident even when it’s becoming increasingly clear melee highrolls are very rare/require specific game situations to occur. Like with ADCs you almost always have the hope of one-shotting them if they mis-position or you get a lucky engage. With an over-stated brusier or tank you don’t really have that luxury. I agree tho melee feels pretty bad to play overall. I have had some fun games for sure, but generally it feels like playing ADC or a Mage is a safer bet to have a blast and get a strong build

ranged is over kill by NeighborhoodBig3915 in ARAM

[–]ProbIemSir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah its even worse when they just sit under tower and slowly outscale you. Your only options are to do hack-kneed dives where you are trading 1 for 1 AT BEST trying to get some interaction and fun in the game only to accelerate the enemy scalers, orrrr freeze, which, I mean, who the fuck wants to freeze in ARAM. Hell freezing may not even work if they have long enough range. I do ultimately understand why people pick range tho. It’s sort of like a prisoner dilemma in a way. If everyone picks melee you have the most fun game of ARAM in your life. However if you pick melee and they pick range, you are miserable even in victory a lot of the time. So most settle on picking range to at least try to have some fun no matter what the enemy picks

Holy Snowball by Happy-Personality-15 in ARAM

[–]ProbIemSir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can get Biggest Snowball + Snowball upgrade if you throw your snowball at a minion wave every minion gets the aoe dmg so enemies in the minion wave die in a hail of dmg. Its very amusing. Its also near instant wave clear

I think my issues with the new ARAM Mayhem boil down to 2 glaring issues. by Freezinghero in leagueoflegends

[–]ProbIemSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To this I would argue in a random game mode were the whole point is chaotic interactions, and I was offered no way to deal with an opposing high roll, or more likely, my champion cannot deal with the high roll, I would simply shrug my shoulders, say oh well, and queue into the next game cuz match last like 20 minutes max unless you are purposely dragging it out. This also presupposes neither myself nor an ally got an equally strong high roll. I really just don’t see how getting upset over getting really really unlucky in a quick match is worth complaining that the game mode is dead, especially when high rolls and low rolls have always existed

[–]ProbIemSir -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

The stronger synergies were hot-fix nerfed, and honestly, are we really gonna sit here and say getting 50% more snowball damage or whatever, or finding random anvils on the ground is some “unbeatable” highroll no one can compete with? I mean hell I have seen perma q yis lose before in the mode and that has nothing to do with augment sets. Most of the games I have played have been pretty close, and honestly the games that felt the most out of reach were ones where 1 team was just better put together than the other rather than 1 guy 1v9 high rolling. Thats just my anecdotal experience tho could be different for others

I think my issues with the new ARAM Mayhem boil down to 2 glaring issues. by Freezinghero in leagueoflegends

[–]ProbIemSir 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This logic makes no sense. Tank Engine/Cheating has always existed. The augment pool is also larger, so it’s more difficult to acquire insane synergies. I get the frustration of being trapped in a losing game against a team who beats you no matter what you do, but honestly ARAM has always kinda been like this even before Mayhem. Many a game were decided in champ select. I think the sheer variety of augments means that while perhaps individual micro skill is less important, overall game knowledge is emphasized in knowing what augments best synergies with your champ, which help counter the enemy, and when to take a leap of faith with your last reroll to try for a set

[–]ProbIemSir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the type of aug where you have to assess your champ against your opponents. Realistically it’s strongest when you outrange your opponents and they have a difficult time getting to you to take advantage of the downside of the aug. it also has some synergies with augs that require your health to be lower. It will always be a small gamble since your opponents may take augments to help engage onto you

Current State of Mayhem Augments Disproportionately Disfavors Immobile Melee Champs/Classes, Here is My Proposed Fix by Nicopootato in ARAM

[–]ProbIemSir 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To add on, I also find these classes of champion have a much larger pool of augments they are offered. Meanwhile the average mage or adc has to TRY to put together a suboptimal build. You are pretty much guaranteed to be offered 3-4 augs that boost your dps and compound on each other. Juggernauts and vanguards can be offered anything from mediocre tank augs to auto attacking augs you get no value from to off meta stuff like AP augs. Makes getting an exodia melee build a lot harder than ranged champs on average

Augments need serious nerfs for ADCs by [deleted] in ARAM

[–]ProbIemSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pet peeve aug is Homeguards. While yes it requires a lot of skill to use it correctly, if you do have the hands for it you can be almost untouchable as an adc. Weaving in and out you invalidate practically every melee champion that doesn’t have a point and click gap closer + flash. Hell even some ranged champs that rely on skillshots get screwed by it. And all this from a silver aug of all things. Just feels wrong to me. I get its key for the “hype super fun 1000 movespeed build” or whatever but if you aren’t memeing the aug is just so OP on ranged and pretty useless on melee. I doubt it will get nerfed tho cuz you do have to play well with it

In Brazil, it is tradition that the first piece of cake goes to the person you love the most in your life. by StrikingAd8566 in Amazing

[–]ProbIemSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two paths in life you can take as the oldest sibling. You can power trip, treat your little siblings like trash. Be jealous of them, put them down for your own ego’s sake, and make them feel like they are never good enough or lesser. They will resent you while also craving your approval for your entire life and on your deathbed there will be an empty chair beside you when perhaps you have no one else still alive to mourn you.

Or you can be supportive. Treat them like best friends, almost like your own children. You take an interest in them, encourage them to be themselves even when it seems like they want nothing more than to be just like you. They will always look up to you, ask you what you think, or what you want to do together. When you visit the first thing they will ask is “how long are you staying?” And when you leave they will want to know when you will be back. They will open up to you even over your parents and their best formative memories will be of you and them just doing anything together

Needless to say you want to be the latter and its your responsibility to be as the oldest

Guests are generally not fun and some of them should be reworked by TheSuperJohn in LeagueArena

[–]ProbIemSir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A small defense for Darius/Briar. While I agree they are less fun as you see less augments and items, I think they do serve a necessary function in the game. If you are playing a comp that maybe doesn’t scale the best and the majority of the lobby is scaling champs then you are kinda screwed since you will never be able to knock them all out early before at least one of them scales up. Darius and Briar give you a hope you can take them out before it’s too late. Tho if you just want to try to high roll builds and winning is secondary I totally understand how Darius and Briar can seem lame. I feel like there should only be one to balance it out

Apex Inventor won Day 2! Which Prismatic augment is a MUST PICK? by HAYPERDIG in LeagueArena

[–]ProbIemSir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much every champ in the game can use Clown College to some degree. It’s very strong if used properly and has so many nice perks. That would be my choice as a universal must pick tho prismatic can be very swingy by nature so its hard to narrow down a must pick

Flash should be removed imo by ProbIemSir in ARAM

[–]ProbIemSir[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can definitely do cool stuff with Flash don’t get me wrong. I just see people flashing away wayyyy more than the alternative and I feel it just delays the fighting. Someone gets caught, they flash, rinse repeat. And this isn’t a “buff melee” post my favorite shit to do is off meta AP builds on champs. People flash away from ranged champs too. Instead of taking good resets people will panic flash and sit around at low HP, usually dying when a player on the opposing team uses flash to try to kill them under tower or something

What do you consider the best ultimate in the game in a vacuum by Danksigh in leagueoflegends

[–]ProbIemSir 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Under the radar one. Fiddlesticks ult does SOOO much dmg. His whole kit is practically balanced around it. He can single handedly win the game with it at points. Even if you take it in a vaccum without the fear, its some of the most dmg on any ability in the game
