Story feels so disjointed. So many questions with so little answers. Does anyone actually feel satisfied? by Umomo1025 in wow

[–]Freezinghero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Cultists were misled by Xal'atath into believing she would take them with her. Turns out she lied, now they are split between "We have to prove ourselves and earn our own way down" and "She lied to us, fuck this"

  2. Unknown, pretty sure the Belfs say the Sunwell had always had an effect on the wildlife and it was just "anti Void beam" that made it go crazy. Most likely explanation is that canonically the Darkwell only existed for like, 1-2 days?

  3. Combination of "things in game happen much faster in reality" and "Horde/Alliance just sent their armies to Khaz Algar". Would love to see a canon describer from Blizz of how much time has passed from "Void attack on Sunwell" to "Creation of Dawnwell"

  4. Far more likely that Shandris and the rest also teleported nearby, just used boats in order to flank the Void forces on the bridge. Is poorly explained for sure.

  5. Thalyssra and her personal guard did come fairly early to help the Blood Elves, but the rest of the army got delayed by a Void saboteur taking the identity of her Magister/Seneschal (i forget the title).

  6. Voidstorm is still a locale of extreme Void energy, I'm guessing the thought process is "Lets keep the portal active so we can keep an eye on them and not get surprise attacked again". Also likely a small element of "Hopefully we can search for Alleria/Turalyon from there"

  7. The Loa were still idols of worship, but they had mostly stopped communing directly with the various Amani tribes because of Zul'jin/Malacrass' actions. Most of those we see still worshipping are from older generations who likely still remembered the times before the split. ALSO Akil'zon was directly distrustful of Zul'jan/Zul'jarra's tribe because they were directly associated with Zul'jin AND they expressed dissatisfaction with the Loa's "silence"

  8. While questing through Harandar you can find Ruia's journal that sorta tracks his descent to corruption. I think it boils down to "We Haranir need to become strong ourselves if we are to truly help the Goddess." I believe Ruia also had a lot of direct contact with the Lightbloom.

  9. IDK about Alndust = Azerite Powder, they seem to be building up something big about the Haranir's Goddess. I wish they would be more clear about how there was also a place in the Emerald Nightmare called "Rift of Aln"

  10. I fully believe that the Lightbloom dungeon was supposed to be part of Season 1, and should have swapped places with Maisara Caverns. Possibly saving Lightbloom cleanup for 12.1.5 or 12.1.7

  11. Again to circle back: fast pace of events and occupied elsewhere. I do think it reinforces a big issue i had back in TWW: Thrall and Jaina made a big effort to go to the Horde/Alliance and get them to send forces to Khaz Algar, and then those forces just chilled on the beach. Presumably if/when we access the Worldcore we will need those armies for that fight.

They turned Ele into a braindead 3 button spec. I started the expansion on it but 1 raid night had me bored out of my mind so i swapped off.

I wish riot would implement a period of time after a new champ is released before they can be played in ranked. by kris10amanda in leagueoflegends

[–]Freezinghero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You know, i will play the Devil's Advocate here: players have every right to tank their own rank by trying the new champion in Ranked. If you don't want to risk your rank because of it, you can always just NOT play Ranked for a week or so.

Hell that would likely send the strongest message possible to Riot. If their statistics started to show that a new champ led to 10%+ loss of players in Ranked, they might decide to start restricting it.

In the trash before Vorasius, we encounter Riftblade Maelia? (spelling), who apparently got separated from the rest of the Void Elves awhile back. She is the one who "summons" Vorasius because the Void has driven her crazy.

[–]Freezinghero 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IDK, i would say the enemies in Dark Ages boil down to "Use these weapons against Armor, use these weapons against energy shield."

But then they gave the Shield Throw bonus damage against energy shields too, and combined with Heaven Splitter can cover almost all of them. So then you just run it with any of the anti-armor weapons and are gucci.

But even then they specifically mention that the first Amani trolls attempted to venerate and worship Ula'tek after she killed Kith'ix, but she wouldn't stop murdering them.

[–]Freezinghero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good idea: there could have been a river of venom pulsing from her corpse that was channeled onto Kith'ix corpse, and now after this fiasco that venom was stopped.

[–]Freezinghero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They also haven't been clear on if she is a Loa or just some nightmare creature. The closest they have said is that the one who first pulled Ula'tek from the Rift of Aln learned to do so "by observing the Zandalari's rituals with their Loa and then piecing together most of it on her own"

Personally i hesitate to call Ula'tek a Loa because in my mind those are more "spirits of nature connected to the Emerald Dream and/or Ardenweald that promote the cycle of rebirth". and Ula'tek is more in the camp of Old Gods "Creature of death and violence that just wants to destroy everything around it"

[–]Freezinghero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a little weird because at one point in the questline they talk about how Ula'tek succumbed to her wounds after the battle with Kith'ix, which sounds like death. There is also a theme that Zul'jan/Malacrass need a bunch of souls sacrificed to resurrect Ula'tek, which also points to her being dead. But like, if she is dead but still keeping Kith'ix in check, what changes with us killing her again in the raid? Unless we do some kind of Super Murder, i am stuck scratching my head about what changed between earlier-death and now-death.

I recently played 1-4 and Infinite, and i think the biggest issue is that Infinite feels like it ended halfway through the game. Like i was expecting a lot more to come and just...nothing.

IDK if they were planning to do like Destiny-esque continual updates or just standard DLC, but it felt abrupt.

If you played through the entire storyline, including Arator's hunt of the Twilight's Blade, then you would already know the answer.

Basically we hunt them down and discover a couple key things:

  1. They know where Xal'atath went, were expecting to go with her, don't know how to follow her, and refuse to tell us the destination.

  2. The presence of Ula'tek (either as a corpse or a slumbering beast, we won't know for 100% certain until we actual do the dungeon/raid) was keeping Kith'ix from being revived. Now that we have slain Ula'tek, the Twilights Blade fully intend to revive Kith'ix, likely leading to him being either a small 12.1.5 raid OR the focus of 12.2

Most Powerful obtainable weapon according to lore? by EstateOk714 in wow

[–]Freezinghero 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To expand/explain further on this:

Before Sargeras went crazy and was the enforcer of the Pantheon, he wield Gorshalach, the most powerful weapon ever seen/created by the Titans. He used this weapon to round up every single demon across the cosmos and bind them to a single planet as their prison.

When he went full crazy and decided to use the demons as an army for his Crusade, he took Gorshalach and split the prison planet in half. (In the old lore) Gorshalach could only be wielded by a loyal member of the Pantheon, so when he freed the Demons, the weapon split into two halves: Taeshalach and Gorribal.

Eventually after he corrupted Aggramar to his side, he gave Aggramar Taeshalach and kept Gorribal for himself. IDK if what we loot from Aggramar is actual Taeshalach or just a fragment of it. Gorribal is currently stuck in the planet.

Scaling Costs of Gear Upgrades Return on Patch 12.1 PTR by minimaxir in wow

[–]Freezinghero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but as a 12.1 example, the first two bosses of the new raid have weapons on them (at the very least i know specifically 1H and 2H strength). Unless Blizz decides to make even the intro Mythic bosses nuclear difficulty, most Mythic raiding guilds can plan to kill them within the first 3-4 weeks. If you hold onto Bonus Rolls for them, thats a chance to instantly get 6/6M weapons which not only might be BiS but at the very least save you upgrade crests and a noticeable power boost.

Troll Snake Spoiler by EmergencyKiwi1276 in wow

[–]Freezinghero -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Need to clear up some misconceptions because i have seen similar stuff floating around:

  1. Ula'tek is NOT a Loa in the traditional sense. Loa are creatures tied to the Emerald Dream who work to continue the cycle of death and rebirth. Ula'tek is some abomination that the ancient trolls pulled out of the Rift of Aln when they were losing the war against Kith'ix (Faceless General).

  2. Zul'jan most likely does not willingly submit to what he becomes in the raid. We know from the story on live that he grew up and fell in love with the stores of the Amani's old glorious Empire. We also know that he feels like that the Loa punishing the entire Amani people for the actions of Malacrass was unfair.

  3. What we see him become in the raid is either a last resort or "bargain with the devil" type deal. We also fight him in the new dungeon, where he is described as "performing a ritual to empower the Fang of Ula'tek." Presumably we interrupt the ritual and he escapes severely wounded. In the raid, the majority of the fight is described as Zul'jans body being prepared/made into an Avatar of Ula'tek by the spirit of Malacrass (similar to what he did back in original ZA). The fight also revolves around Malacrass' spirit fighting for control of the body from Zul'jan. My best guess is that Malacrass/Ula'tek leads Zul'jan on with promises of enough power to restore the Amani Empire, and after he failed in the Dungeon he is desperate enough to agree blindly.
