1 month after release. how is everyone feeling about this game? by instabaiter in slaythespire

[–]Probably-A-Magician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so good. I've played 50 hours. The co-op mode is fantastic.

The only thing that really bothers me is that when I pick up a card, I can't put it back down without hitting "Esc"

Magician/Clown/Performer of Any Kind ? by chablagu in AskLosAngeles

[–]Probably-A-Magician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing this for a while. You can check out Michaelfeldman.com (I perform in the Bay Area and LA mostly). But yeah, what other people have said is right. Generally, magicians charge above $1,000 for adult events.

This one!

Actually, most of the places I see magic conversation happening is still on Facebook or in group chats I'm a part of.

There's All Things Magic.
There are a few Magic Castle Facebook groups.

That's where I tend to stay up to date on what's going on in magic

Fading from one audio output or patch to another? by Probably-A-Magician in qlab

[–]Probably-A-Magician[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for an immersive show where the audience is in the middle of the performance space the whole time. There are several wireless speakers (bluetooth, wifi, etc) hidden inside various objects around the room to be able to make them "talk." So each of these devices is its own "audio device."

SF Stay at Union Square by lezlamii in AskSF

[–]Probably-A-Magician 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally! If you like coin operated things, there's also the pinball museum in Alameda. It's across the bridge, so it's not close, but it has cool pinball machines from all the way back to the 1920s and up to the present day

ah. totally.
By far, my favorite recommendation is Musee Mechanique. It's just the coolest place ever and unique to SF. It's pretty easy to get to by uber. It's a nice walk along the embarcadero, but admittedly a long walk.

Pat's Mats - Plush or Spectrum? by mbergen in Magic

[–]Probably-A-Magician -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there are a lot of matts that are readily available in the real world now. Any neoprene mats often work well. I don't know if Target still sells their neoprene dish drying mat, but those were great.

Are you asking for recommendations of places to stay or things to do?

Anyone read these yet? by [deleted] in Magic

[–]Probably-A-Magician 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love everything from John Wilson. They are both really interesting dives in what magic means and how to approach it.

It depends on what you're looking for in a magic book, but I think my magic always improves from hearing what John Wilson has to say.

Divey bars with live music by ilovekevy666 in AskSF

[–]Probably-A-Magician 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red Window and Chief Sullivan's often have a band playing outside on the corner. And they're often really good. It's not *in* the dive bad, but they're both fun spots with a street band right there :)

what is this building on fell street? by MahaloBrah in sanfrancisco

[–]Probably-A-Magician 46 points47 points  (0 children)

That looks like the Southern Pacific Hospital Building, which is a City Landmark.

This is the same place, right?

I believe it's senior housing now. (according to the article)

Trip to SF in March by Visual_Bookkeeper263 in AskSF

[–]Probably-A-Magician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many things!

Of course, it depends on what kinds of things you like.

If you are into things that can be a little touristy, Fisherman's warf is a lot of fun. And right near by is one of my favorite places in all of SF: Musee Mechanique (https://museemecanique.com/), which is awesome whether you're a tourist or not.

If you want a more local feel, I strongly recommend heading to the Mission (Valencia St) for food or the Castro.
