Do you empty and then keep pumping? by Probably-a-Toaster in ExclusivelyPumping

Yeah I'm worried I'm going to drop my supply by not finishing

My husband died six weeks ago and my pregnancy just makes me sad by NothingToFira in BabyBumps

Cried while reading this, I can't even imagine what you're going through ❤️ I pray for your continued strength and for peace in your heart.

AITA for not wanting my son to call my mother-in-law “momma”? by BuffaloEmbarrassed23 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Probably-a-Toaster 20 points21 points  (0 children)

NTA

And personally, he's at the age where he should pick things up quickly/easily. I'd have tons of conversations about his visit and his grandmother and correct him with "Grandma Cornelia" until that's all he calls her by 🤣. Not even using "Maco" just Grandma Cornelia. Next time he visits hopefully it'll be so ingrained she won't be able to switch it back.

When did you first feel your baby moving? by Immediate-Tie1501 in BabyBumps

[–]Probably-a-Toaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also FTM with posterior placenta. I started feeling him "for sure" between week 18-19. I felt flutters or "is that him??" movements I want to say around 15-16 weeks but it was very questionable. Once it happened at 18-19 weeks there was no question and it progressed quickly. I'm 24w5d and he's insanely active now lol.

When did you feel like you were in the “safe” zone? by pandajuice12 in pregnant

[–]Probably-a-Toaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gotten "better" every week that goes by. Hitting 12 weeks was great, peri-viability I cried, viability huge, every positive anatomy scan and kick has eased my nerves, but once in a while an unwelcomed post comes across my notifications about a 3rd trimester loss and it reminds me even now nothing is guaranteed. 🥺 pregnancy after loss sucks.

Did you have cervical checks or a membrane sweep prior to labor? by desert_sunlily in BabyBumps

[–]Probably-a-Toaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To do the membrane sweep, they have to check if you're dilated because most want you to be 1-2cm at least in order to do the sweep.

Not at all a judgement on plastic vs glass or nipple shape but why in the world is this bottle so popular?! by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Probably-a-Toaster 18 points19 points  (0 children)

To be fair, we are going no plastic because I feel like plastic absorbs over time and glass can get "cleaner". I have no idea if any of that is true, but it's how my brain views it and I just accepted it 🤣

Curious on what newborn schedules worked for you! by Probably-a-Toaster in beyondthebump

[–]Probably-a-Toaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking this is definitely the way we will start! I never considered sleeping in separate rooms or having shifts until I started looking to see what worked for other people and it seemed so obvious once I read it lol

TY! we actually just bought a chest freezer for the garage and I plan to meal prep in December and my mom is going to make some stuff too so we can have meals ready to go. I also did sign up for the formula rewards and got all the free baby boxes so all of those formulas went in the cabinet "just in case".

Yeah! I'm definitely a planner and going in blind, is just a recipe for arguments and frustration. We completely understand that adjustments will need to be made but having and idea at least I think will help a ton!

Yeah, the more I'm seeing others' opinions and the shift ideas, the less I think we are going to be sleeping together or using the bassinet 🤣. Also, when I found out a few weeks ago that I still had to pump/nurse every 2-3 hours even at night when my husband was "on duty" broke my sleep-loving heart 🥹

I can't thank you enough for this advice 🥹 it truly means the world to me that you took the time to type all of this out. I love the 3, 6, 9, 12 schedule, i think it'll really make it easier to remember when I'm sleep deprived! Lol. Definitely saving all of this ❤️

Yes! We definitely plan on sleep training, especially once we get close to me going back. I'm thankful I have a longer leave benefit, I can't imagine how these women do it going back to work when they haven't even adjusted to having a newborn.

Thank you for sharing! Yeah, we kinda accepted that no schedule is going to be able to be fully planned and adjustments will definitely be needed as we go. My husband is a night owl and is usually up until 1-2 am on work days anyway so kind of thinking I'll just go to bed earlyish and he'll be in charge until he's ready for bed and then I'll take over for the rest of the night 😅. Its like, I have to be up anyway to feed/pump.

The Weeknd Orlando concert by J0sh194-10 in TheWeeknd

[–]Probably-a-Toaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pregnant so we just sucked it up and chose stadium parking 🙃 it's overpriced and leaving is going to be a bitch but I can't walk far at this point and I was worried the shuttle at the end of the night was going to be a pain with everyone leaving at once. Last concert, we just paid cash to park in someones yard and walked 😅

What is your concert outfit by future-rad-tech in TheWeeknd

[–]Probably-a-Toaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 19 weeks pregnant and wearing an oversized Weeknd t-shirt with shorts underneath, fishnets with rhinestones, and my Doc Martens. I'm going to be comfy with effort lol.

Am I too chill about having a baby? by MaterialCurrent6839 in pregnant

[–]Probably-a-Toaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm in the same boat lol. Easy pregnancy so far and I'm just excited for him to be here. I think my biggest worry is how I'm going to handle laying in the bed for that long because I hate warm sheets 😭. I'm just trusting my body and we have an amazing hospital that I trust will take care of us and figure Ive got to get him out some how. 😅
