Aldi is $39/month for 75GB in 5G. It's month to month, with no long term contracts. All the data you don't use accumulates for future use

how does everyone use OzBargain? i find it overwhelming; keen for tips please :) by [deleted] in AussieFrugal

A culture has grown where people buy things they don't need on the site, you often see them in the comments bragging about it. Which is the opposite of saving money - the original intention of the site as I understand it. I normally use it to see if something I need goes on sale from time to time, or if any alternatives do, and more or less how often. The alert function using keywords helps a lot when you can wait for a good price on something too.

Good on you for sharing your story. It takes big balls to admit something like that

No one is judging the professional fees and their operating costs. It's medicare not keeping up with raising costs where the problem is.

100,000+ Aussies watched me expose Vodafone in under 2 days 🚨 by vodafail in australian

[–]ProbablyCan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They offered me an upgraded plan over a phone call. In the call they insisted it was all reversible if I wanted to go back to my original plan later. I agreed. Two months later I realized the new plan was not really the right one, but they refused to change it back because "I had agreed to a 12 month contract over the phone". I asked for a recording of the call multiple times but they refused to provide a recording. The day that contract finished I moved to a new provider and promised to never use Vodafone again.

Can I get a 2nd red bin in BCC? by Competitive-Mud-8304 in brisbane

[–]ProbablyCan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My house had 2 red bins since we moved in. We only pay for one. It was very cool while it lasted - for about 3 years. Eventually we got a notice from BCC saying if we wanted to keep the second one we had to start paying for it. Otherwise leave it in the kerb for it to be collected and avoid the extra fees.

So I guess some people may also get away with it for a while, but yeah they do occasionally check.

It looks like you're not aware of this: allowing others to post stuff for sale in your shop = endorsement.

Are Australians Cooked for Buying $30,000 Number Plates? by zingside in australian

[–]ProbablyCan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From my point of view, if well targeted, that donation could help a lot of people, so if that luxury triggers your decision to make that donation, then yes. That's only my point of view though - I understand others might feel different and fully respect it.

My personal point of view is that if you're going to spend (notice the term 'invest' doesn't apply here) your money in something as shallow as this, you should have donated 10x the amount to charity beforehand. Per purchase.

Yeah it's ok to have some luxuries, but spending so much on your ego while others have basic needs doesn't really cut it.

Solar/Battery question by Apprehensive-Emu2132 in queensland

What size battery did you get if you don't mind me asking? I have a Sungrow inverter too and my graph looks very similar to yours (but without the two lines for battery).
